Rachel did have Kurt and Blaine and it was a novelty that she was not sure that she'd ever have back home. She wasn't totally surprised by how close she and Kurt were, really they were so similar that it was easy for them to find things that they could connect over. Blaine was cool, too. It wasn't awkward at all after they'd dated that one time, it was just easy to get along with him and know that when he wanted sex, Kurt was already there in the room with her. So she wasn't tempting him or anything.
So yes, she felt safe with Kurt and Blaine and knew that they would protect her and always keep her safe when they could, but... but Finn was different. Finn was her knight in shining armour. Her other half and all of that. He would keep her safe because he loved her and he was the person that she was meant to be with forever. So she knew that no matter what happened between them, he would always protect her.
Watching Finn as he got up and grabbed two glasses, Rachel took a few more bites of her food and leaned forward to rest her chin on her hand.
"I never do anything I don't want to do, Finn... I'm too much of a star to do anything that I don't want. I always know what I want."
