Even when you've paid enough, been pulled apart or been held up
Who: The Hudmel boys
When: Thursday afternoon.
Where: Finn's apartment.
Summary: The boys get together to discuss Life Things.
Warnings: None that I can think of!
It was just like back home, Kurt mused with a bitter sort of smile as he climbed the steps to Finn's apartment. Their lives had gone past each other there, too. Kurt's life had slowly wrapped itself around NYADA, and Finn should have been a part of that--but instead, they just seemed to drift further apart, and Kurt felt terrible about it, especially now.
The incident with Blaine had brought them closer together again, but Kurt didn't want his relationship with his brother to revolve around tragedy. His date with Blaine had left him in tears, yes, but he had realized something-- That they were still kids, all of them, and that they needed to hold on to that no matter what happened.
There was no time but the present to start, he reasoned, and baked a blueberry pie and a loaf of banana-walnut bread to pack up to take to Finn's. He rapped on the door--which was only a formality, really, since he walked right in a second after.
"Finn?" he called out as he set the bakery on the counter. The sink was full of dirty dishes and the counter was a mess, and he frowned and started automatically straightening up as he waited for his brother.

He ruffles around the kitchen, taking two of the plates he'd just cleaned and a small knife to cut the pie. He prepares a slice for himself and a considerably larger one for Finn, then moves to sit at the table with his brother.
"So," he says tentatively. "How are you?"
It was always sort of like this; even back home, their lives went right by each other, and every conversation was about catching up.

"I've been okay. Well, pretty okay. Things are actually still really weird without Santana, you know? I kinda got used to having her around and stuff and now she's just... not here. Just like that."
