Growing in the landscape
Who: Castiel and Dean Winchester
When: Ambiguously now (5/08)
Where: Mary and Dean's apartment~
Summary: Castiel and Dean need to talk about things. Lots of things.
Warnings: PG-13 for SPN characters, but these two aren't likely to do worse than argue at most.
Castiel hadn't seen Dean for awhile.
It wasn't a surprise, really; here, he could go some time without seeing any of the Winchesters. There were tons of reasons for this, and even if Castiel and Sam were beginning to reconnect after everything that had happened, they had a shared ground to move forward from. With Dean...
With Dean there was holy fire, and a broken friendship, and only Castiel knew that side of it. It was awkward, uncomfortable, and Castiel didn't know how to proceed with Dean or how not to; he didn't know what to do or say around him, and with the history of the times he'd been here before, he was even more uncertain.
But though he'd given some time before contacting Dean after what happened to John, it was about time to. And not just that, but they probably should talk about other things as well, as Castiel was sure by now that Dean knew at least part of what had happened with Sam, and Castiel wanted to know exactly what that was.
He appeared, as usual, in a flutter of wings, materializing in an instant a few feet from Dean, staring at him. At least some things never changed.
