don't go around tonight, well it's bound to take your life.
Who: Dean Winchester, OPEN TO ALL.
What: Dean takes matters into his own hands.
When: Early afternoon of today.
Where: Skye hospital.
Warnings: Sick things. Cursing.
OOC notes: Family, friends, andenemies otherwise are welcome to forward-date visits to yell and/or console him (most likely yell) when he's actually situated in a room. IDK. ♥
[It's hard to slip out unnoticed in a house that has half your family and a kid you're responsible for but he managed it.
He's been on bed rest for the past few days, enough to have the cycle of people looking in on him memorized. So when he saw opportunity, he took it.
He sat curled up in a cab with a sweatshirt on instead of his Dad's leather jacket and took it to the hospital.
When he gets there he's still hunching his shoulders in a way that's pretty indicative of him being in pain. For the people that knew him.
He's spent the past five minutes arguing with the receptionist.] Look, I don't give a shit if you're busy I'm not gonna sit around and infect my family. I don't care if you have t'keep me in a friggen' linen closet I'm not leaving.
[He's pale, his lips are chapped, and he looks miserable. It only takes the subtlest of brushes from a passerby to knock him flat on his ass.
His hand goes to his head because the room starts to spin.] Dammit... [He didn't even like hospitals, but this was necessary.]

Don't mention it. We ate at home. I think I'll stay with you until you have your own room.
[She doesn't want to leave him alone here. It's pure paranoia- leaving him alone somewhere where they might mistake him for someone else. It's irrational, since she knows they're more professional than that, but fuck it. She's a mom and irrationality is her birthright.]
Are you thirsty?
no subject
[He was parched. It was why he'd ask for the flask, outside of his usual habits and need to drown his inner demons.
Dean sits up in the chair and lets the other one just hold his legs. He toes out of his boots.]
no subject
[While she talks, she reaches over to gently push his boots away from his feet the last inch or so that the angle of the chair won't allow. NBD.]
Alcohol would just dry you out.

[He's making light of his serious drinking problem. The fact that he carries it everywhere.
He sighs thankfully when she pulls off his shoes and settles back down into the plastic chair with a grunt.]

[He watched the two, picking up most the conversation, watching Mary go talk to the nurse, watching Dean look very sick. He didn't interrupt though. He wasn't hungry either. Mary said they ate, and he just nodded to that.]
[Oddly he was doing pretty good himself. No cold or sniffle or anything like that. He was a pretty fit kid
with pretty much zero guilt, thanks.]Is there... anything I can do to help?
[he asked at last, arm wrapped around a knee, foot in the chair, resting his head on it, the other swinging a bit over the chair edge.]
no subject
Yeah- can you please go get us some water? If you go around that nurse's station right there and take a right, there's a water cooler.
[She indicates the nurse's station and the right direction as she talks, smiling at him kindly.]
Tell you what- if you make two trips and get all three of us waters, I'll order us a movie off pay-per-view when Dean gets a room.

He's a good kid. I told you... cool under pressure. His mom'd be proud.
no subject
Okay. I can do that. [He gave a weak smile at Dean in return. Clearly he was worried about the man, but he said nothing else, turned and went off for round one of water...]
no subject
Lisa, right? You told me about her before you vanished last.
[There's something a little familiar and fond in her voice, that said she knows more than she's letting on.]
no subject
Yeah, probably one of the best weekends I've spent off the gig in a long time.
[He can still recall vividly the bendiest weekend of his life.]
Except she was a yoga instructor and she didn't have him yet. That was eleven years ago.

We may actually be the strangest family ever.
no subject
[Dean leans into her as much as he can in the chair and rubs at his face tiredly.]
When we're not savin' people from monsters it makes us pretty bad company.
no subject
Hey now, speak for yourself, mister.
[She looks round for Ben, who has to be coming back by now.]
no subject
[came up to the two of them, wordlessly offering them each a cup of water. Not a drop was dripped.]
no subject
[Dean gives Ben a weak punch to the shoulder and takes the water with a smile that says thank you without him having to. His lips are chapped and he needs it so he swallows it down no matter how much it hurts.]
