As He Came Into The Window

Who: Astrid & Hiccup
When: After Sirens.
Where: Hiccup and Astrid's apartment.
Summary: Hiccup isn't home yet and the sirens have already rang. There's only so much waiting a viking can do until it turns into worried seething.
Warnings: Viking rage.

Astrid wasn't worried. No, worried would be an understatement. She was angry for the most part - worry was just an underlying glaze to her quiet seething in the dim light of their apartment as she sharpened her axe, sitting on the couch Hiccup should've been asleep on.

Now, Astrid wasn't clingy. By no means could she be labeled as such. But Hiccup had been acting weird lately. Well, weirder...and with the recent happenings of Newcomers going missing it was her right to be concerned when she woke up and Hiccup wasn't where he should be. The sirens had already broadcast their whining drone of a warning and the two of them should've been safely inside and asleep. Even Toothless was in the other room softly snoring away.

Astrid didn't care if Hiccup went out and did things without her or made plans without her. She didn't. She didn't. In fact, she was happy he was making friends and breaking out of his awkward shell. What she did care about however was waking up for a glass of water and Hiccup not being there on the couch like he should've been. They'd gone to bed and had dinner ages ago. Who was crazy enough to go out after the sirens anyway?!

Maybe he'd just gone down the hall or to the lobby for some reason. Either way, she'd give him ten minutes to come back. If he wasn't back by then?

Well, her axe would be sharp and ready.
