putting the "rat" back in "corporate espionage"

Who: Claire Stanfield and Axel
When: Today, after Sirens
Where: Xino E. Mao Office
Summary: the worst corporate espionage ever
Warnings: None (TBA if necessary)

[ Somebody with more sense than bravado might think that breaking into an unsrupulous superpowered corporation's offices was something to be attempted only under life and death circumstances. Claire is not such a person, so he figures the following reasons were good enough to try and dig up some dirt:

1. He'd landed a contract with their competitor.
2. His AGI-employed fiancée's boss was being kind of a pain in the ass.

Finding more dirt on Tonegawa other than his cheating at poker was a major incentive. The SERO job was just another contract - if he found something that might be useful to them he could turn it over, but it'd come at a price. No sense in trying to get brownie points with a company whose respect he didn't particularly need or want. Even if there was no information that would pay, the motto know your enemy had never failed him before, and neither had his break-in skills.

Of course, that was before the age of modern security. He was more prepared for that after his brief stint in the Port prison (a valuable lesson in avoiding CCTV cameras), but getting into the ventilation system itself had still taken longer then he'd anticipated as he'd had to detour around a motion sensor on the outside of the building. Disabling it wasn't an option when he didn't want anyone knowing he'd been in and his only technique was hitting it with something hard. Like a bullet. He'd have to look into proper disabling techniques when this was over.

That little setback wasn't enough to deter Claire from pressing on into the air duct running through the offices. There was no excuse to shirk a little exercise when nothing serious could possibly go wrong. ]
