Picnic time!

Who: Kevin, Bruce, Mimsy and all the invitees
When: Sunday August 5th Noon - ?
Where: Kevin and Bruce's pad.
Summary: Kevin invited some people for a picnic/barbecue thing, hopefully they all stop by.
Warnings: Kevin's temper, possibly Crowley/Magneto, Miss Unohana smiling. Will add others as necessary.

Kevin has spent the last couple of days cooking, baking and cleaning the house with Mimsy and Bruce's help.

He's moved everything outside and will be manning the grill, and making sure that everything is nice and ready.

Some foods on offer:

Typical grill fare (burgers, dogs, sausages, chicken)
Corn on the cob (on the grill!)
Salads (macaroni, potato, three bean, regular lettuce salad, egg, tuna, and chicken)
Fresh vegetables with dip
Fried okra
Greens
Potatoes au gratin
Eggplant lasagna
Fried fish and hushpuppies
Pies/cobblers (blackberry, strawberry/rhubarb, apple cobbler w/streusel topping, blueberry, pecan pie)
Cakes/cupcakes (devil's food, carrot, vanilla)

All buns/breads are homemade, by Kevin as are all the desserts. There are two huge tables of food with paper plates. There are three coolers of drinks (one saved for alcoholic drinks brought by the guests). Mimsy is trolling for food, Kevin's wearing an inhibitor, and all are welcome!

Anyone who fights will be asked to leave and then removed. Kevin's in a mood, and just wants to have fun.

[Kevin nudges Mimsy out of the way. She trots over to sniff at the new person. Who did not bring bacon which makes her a SAD PUPPY.

[Kevin will look up, under his bangs at Deadpool. He's a lot more observant than folks give him credit for.]

Ya doin' anythin' special?

[Meaning, hey, he will help kill folks involved in the hunt.]

[He's trying to be sociable, but isn't feeling all that up to it all things considered, so he's in the kitchen, puttering and cleaning up.]

Jesus, Kevin, did you invite an army? I'm not usually one for armies.

[Kevin comes in, looking for a pack of hot dogs. Then, he smiles a bit.]

Not an army, 'bout ten people, they might bring guests. 'Sides, ya always cook enough fer folks to take some home with 'em.

[Kevin isn't a young'un. After all, he took on SERO.]

I ain't doubtin' that. Was jus' wonderin'.

[Genesis had brought along one of his housemates (ooc: still being decided on), but he seems quite in the mood to mingle-- and he's quite impressed by the array of food laid out for everyone.]

[Considering Frau is Kevin's unofficial test subject when it comes to food, there is no doubt Frau would be around for this. He'd dragged Teito with him then released his constant vigilance on the kid. There isn't too much to get into trouble here. He hopes. With a grin, he heads over to Kevin.]

[He gets on HYDRA's top five list of dangerous people, then they can talk]

Don't worry about it. You just focus on making your life suck less, you know?

Anyway, you down for doing some beer burgers?

[Kevin really wants to get involved. And, ya know, if he tries at home, he could probably get on Sabretooth's top five of people he's going to kill pretty quick. Ya know, too dangerous to live and all that.]

Made beer brats, an' beer batter fish, grab me a couple o' burgers an' if'n ya brought beer, one o' them too.

[Kevin hadn't seen Frau arrive, being busy with the grill and cooking and stuff.]

Would ya break up that burger fer Mimsy, yer Excellency an' put it down fer her?

[Because there are people here that Kevin really does not want to hear that nickname, because they'd use it against him.]

[He'd brought himself four beers. At noon he was sipping one, the rest in the cooler. He wasn't sure he'd drink them all but this way, he didn't need to worry about it.

He's a bit banged up - ribs taped for comfort, foundation expertly (so nearly invisibly) applied and covering yellow bruises, clothing carefully tailored to hide the tape. He's moving a bit stiffly but otherwise he appears well.]

[It's more teasing than it usually is though. Kevin can probably tell that since Frau just does as he's asked without any complaint.]

Might be. Jus' know that Miss Amelia, who watched me when I was little, an' Daddy worked, said when ya cook fer comp'ny comin' over, ya always make sure they c'n take some home.

[He shrugs. It had been done at the church too.]

[Bruce's upbringing didn't include many gatherings, so it could be the norm and he just didn't know.]

I'd say your Miss Amelia would feel you'd done her proud.

[That brought a genuine smile to his face. The first one since Bruce had been kidnapped.]

Hope so. Wouldn't put it past her t'show up. She was wicked with a wooden spoon. Didn't nobody, not even Pastor Kyle, backtalk her.

[Kevin snorts, with a smirk.]

Hey, there's more'n a few here, I'd rather they didn't hear m'nickname. C'n promise they won't hear yers either.

[Mimsy drools on Frau's shoe until he puts the burger down.]

[He says as he grabs a couple of the beers he had put in the cooler]

[It's later in the afternoon by the time McCoy shows up, he thought about just heading home but he has some manners left, and you don't just ignore Southern hospitality. Besides, Kevin had been nothing but helpful, and he's starting to feel guilty for constantly blowing his invitations off.

He brought a six pack of some of the least-awful beer he could find at the convenience store near by, and one of those "as seen on tv" stuffing-free dog toys that had been hanging up near the register. Dogs and BBQ's were never a good mix.]

Better if'n I don't drink.

Afternoon, Mr. Genesis.

[Kevin has a drink, but no food. And a Mimsy. Who has to sniff Genesis's shoes. Because he is NEW AND SHINY.]

[Kevin is glad McCoy showed up. Some folks just didn't get Southern hospitality. He's finally stopped cooking - mainly because he was told to - and is sitting in a lawnchair under a tree.

Mimsy is sprawled on her back in a food coma. But she perks up. HELLO NEW PERSON! YOU ARE A NEW PERSON AND I WILL SMELL YOUR SHOES. Which she proceeds to do with puppy enthusiasm. DID YOU BRING BACON?!

Kevin does not give his dog bacon. Ever. Not since that one time. He still swears the smell lingers.]
