proxysproxy: (unremarkable unimpressive me)

Herp derp

One of these days, Vincent thought, he'd have to appologize to Pino for telling her the characters in her book were make-believe. The bridge troll, at least, was real. He had to face it every time he went to see her.

Admittedly Raul didn't look like a bridge troll, but to Vincent he certainly scowled like one. It was honestly very tiring, having to deal with the former Security Chief's unbridled disdain. But he was Pino's father, and he was very important to her.

It helped to be prepared, and show up early, or at least on time, as he had managed to do every time so far. Except today. Today Vincent's boss had caught him as he was finishing up his shift and gotten on his case, and kept him captive for a good forty five minutes before he could escape. This accounted for pretty much all of his travel-time; sector 3 was all the way across the city from his workplace in sector 9. Vincent was already ten minutes late and waiting impatiently for the metro when it occured to him that he could just teleport to his destination.

As he approached Raul and Pino he knew his day was about to get worse. The other man looked like he was having a bad day as well, and Raul was the kind of guy who liked to spread his bad mood around.

"Sorry I'm late." Vincent said by way of greeting. He tried not to seem too contrite about it, though. He was half-convinced Raul could smell weakness a mile off, like a shark smells blood.
