cast me gently into morning, for the night has been unkind
Who: Jesse Turner and Bruce Banner
When: September 7, right after Jesse turned all the misbehaving toys back to normal.
Where: Beach at Sector 4
Summary: For nearly over a week Jesse has been trying to get Bruce back. Today he finally manages
Warnings: slight mentions of violence in the event
Jesse knows he messed up, and he messed up big time.
When he has seen the news, he instantly knew it was him. It have to be him. How else can it be? Jesse been practicing changing toys into real life, not too long ago, and when he accidentally turned Bruce into the Hulk, and the Hulk into a toy, he have been focusing all his energy to change his mistakes, to get Bruce back.
It has been a hellish week. Let's not forget that Jesse have to go to school for the first time, so that's more time wasted when he should have been spending time with the Hulk. Every morning and every afternoon, he spent his time with a small, green toy, talking to it, apologizing, even yelling out in frustration as he tries to control his powers, he can't do it. He can't bring Bruce back, and it is all his fault.
It's only then did he realize today that during that week, his powers have been creating other problems. Problems he haven't been paying attention to, because who cares what's going on at the news? Jesse didn't, not when the news people care more about Mr. Spencer than Jesse being kidnapped by Mr. Spencer. So he never knew because he didn't care.
So for once, Jesse left the Hulk on his bedside table and appeared in Sector 1, where he's seen a train on tracks in the street, looping around a block, compounding traffic. With a deep breathe and a single thought, everything went back to normal. The flying spaceships turned back into toys and fell from the sky, and as Jesse watched one tumbling down and landing into a really expensive-looking Porshe, Jesse remembered that he left the Hulk in his bedroom.
One second later, Jesse returns to his room and, to his conflicted mix of relief and frustration, Hulk did not change back. Picking him up again, Jesse took him to the Sector 4 beach, where he always gone in the past week.
Settling the toy down again, Jesse took a few steps back and try to remember how he done it with the rest of the city.
And suddenly, just like that, it works. The Hulk is no longer a toy.
But he is still the Hulk.
