It's the look that Castiel is giving him that makes it so difficult to keep his composure, triggering in deep ways that he had thought he didn't have to worry about it. Enough that he has to focus on what his body is doing to keep calm, to breathe evenly and slowly, to keep a slow heart rate. It's only the flares on his nerves, the overly active neural activity in his brain, that shows just how panicked he is and how much he's fighting instinct to flee, fight, or both.
He nodded, exhaling slowly as he did, looking up without making eye contact and offer the back to Castiel. "There's a boy, Jax. Would you give that to him?" Jax had been a patient years ago in Skye one night, and it had taken months for Magneto to get the boy to trust him. He was ten now, an orphan and street kid, and he'd joined a band of others who clumped together to care for each other. The slight supplies in the bag would help him and Magneto had accepted that he wasn't going to be around to give it to him. And passing along belongings was just what you did - gave what you had to those who needed them.
He didn't think to ask why Castiel considered him a sinner - he didn't need to. He couldn't even had said he was anything more, and he'd known where his alliances would lead him, he simply hadn't seen a reason to be concerned. After everything he had done, it was very much a 'in for a penny, in for a pound' mentality.
Expect more of it! <3
