"Not necessarily. I mean, guilds have been as helpful as they have been hindering." But that's a lot of talking, and Harry doesn't think Ella cares much about the significance of guilds in a historical context let alone when you apply it to further engines such as tabletop games. Nor does he really know if she's from his world or not. Things might go differently in Ellaland, so he waves a hand and waves off that line of thought as best he can.

When she offers to ask around, Harry instantly thinks to decline, to try to dissuade her from taking care of what could technically be considered his business, to not take advantage of her goodwill -- but that's actually really rude of him to think, and he stifles it. Especially since it's actually very thoughtful of her and he needs the assistance. "Yeah," he says instead, "I'd really appreciate whatever help you could offer. I could..." He looks to his hands, the right one bandaged, the other mottled with burn scars and laughs wryly.

"Well, I was going to offer to write a quick or messy resume if that would help, but I'm afraid the emphasis would be on messy.
