"I said of course they were crazy. I'm from 2025 remember? The world doesn't end in 2012," Chris repeated. Then he actually smiled at his aunt. Despite everything, he felt immensely comforted by the alter and all the pieces to it. He loved the smell of all of the pieces of it coming together. This was the scent that had meant winter for him for so long, until Wyatt had destroyed it all.

He didn't want to think of any of that though. What was most important was making this go right.

"And anyway, you know our family would never let that happen." He gestured towards the alter and all that it meant. "Let's get started?"
