Who Eponine and Jesse
When 18/01/13, late afternoon
Where Mr Gold's shop and the little back room
Summary Yosuke told Eponine that he made a deal with Jesse. Eponine's off to sort it out
Warnings Perhaps slight mention of prostitution but should be nothing major
Eponine has spent the last week in a state of panic. She's been hooked up to a load of different machines that bleeped and blipped constantly, doing goodness only knows what. Her attachment to them, though, meant that Eponine was unable to discharge herself as she had no idea how to unhook them. And so she was forced to lie in her bed for a week, enduring blood transfusions and hospital food, until the doctors deemed her well enough to go home. Which meant she had spent a week panicking about the huge bill that was mounting up from the emergency surgery and the extra care she had received. Especially since Yosuke had told her that she had lost her home, her money - everything. Again. And that he was in debt to Jesse - that Jesse was a gangster and had threatened Yosuke was a gun. The teen was blatantly afraid of Jesse, and had got himself in trouble, purely to save Eponine.
Except, that had misfired. And now Eponine was to be a proper criminal, and a pretend prostitute. Well, there was nothing she could do about that. And she needed the money again, frankly.
But she COULD help Yosuke. She could get him out of whatever deal he had gotten into on her behalf. She had to.
As soon as she's released, having promised to pay the huge hospital bill within days, she goes to see Jesse. She has a couple of the dying flowers from the beautiful display he had sent her woven into her tangled hair, and a smile fixed firmly on her face as she pushes open the door to the shop. Both her hand and her chest are still bandaged, but she's ignoring the pain from both now. Instead, she leans up against an old sewing machine, and offers Jesse the most unconcerned smile she can manage.
"Hey there, Monsieur."
