As unpleasant as it sounded, the First knew a nerve was struck. The cant of his head suggested a hint of interest at the course of action taken.

There was great anger in Roxas' eyes, his voice, his whole being. It gave him life – something Xemnas had lacked for the longest time. Mimicking and going through the motions was his choice, really. Had he the ability to recall any sort of real emotion, he would feel almost envious that of how much the boy– no, young man – could summon in mere seconds.

Xemnas did turn halfway to meet that glare, a subtle trace of astonishment showing over the mask of apathy. The same amount of anger at this display could be reflected easily. And yet he was vaguely and strangely proud of Roxas' willingness to continue standing against him.

He had so much potential. It was a shame their paths went the way they did.

The Nobody almost laughed as the tension slowly disintegrated on his end. It was no use to push him any further, not with his blunt force resolve. Physical harm was a close second; this was not what he sought out. "...You truly have grown." He stepped back, keeping his eyes on Roxas. It was clear he would leave him alone. For now, at least. As he turned to walk, he slipped out a bill, placing it on a table top in passing.
