You don't owe me a thing, I've been there too

Who: Batman and Robin France and Enjolras.
When: February 24th, 2013, just after morning sirens.
Where: House of Awesome.
Summary: Enjolras discovers that a mysterious benefactor fitting Francis' description has paid some of his debt to AGI for him. France comes back from his usual night shift at Lion's Gate to find Enjolras waiting for him.
Warnings: Yelling, possibly French swearing, and lots of weeping and hugging later on.

It had been easy enough to slip in to AGI's debt collection office first thing in the morning and pay several thousand dollars' worth of Enjolras' debt to the company. It had been ridiculously easy to sneak in a small digital recorder in his pocket, to make sure that AGI wouldn't try to pull any funny business later. It had even been easy to neglect to mention his name, in the course of conversation with the pretty receptionist who processed his payment. After all, both companies only really cared about money at their core; he'd learned this from first hand experience. And this was not the first time he had paid AGI, either - the last time had been to see someone kept in permanent captivity. And France was going to be damned if he let one of his citizens, particularly such a loyal and honorable one as Enjolras, remain in slavery. Not when there was something he could do.

The receptionist had been kind enough to process the payment for him right then and there, so that it would automatically be applied that afternoon. Though of course, it had everything to do with France sweet talking the poor dear - it had been obvious she enjoyed his attention, and he was ever the charmer... especially when it suited his needs, like this instance. Why wait for them to "lose" his check and give him the runaround for two weeks - which he honestly expected from this lot, given how many enemies Enjolras had made - when he could compliment the lovely lady with every sentence and get it completed over the computer in a matter of an hour or so?

As it was, he'd gotten out of the collection office around noon, and had spent the rest of the day away from the House running errands for Lion's Gate. Being the head chef at such a high-class establishment certainly had its perks, but it had its share of dirty work as well. The daily grocery shopping, scrubbing their industrial kitchen spotless, getting the meats marinaded and various pre-cooking tasks done, and then on top of the almost eleven hour shift... when all was said and done, he'd had a very busy day and night, and was looking forward to going to bed.

But as he came into the house and stepped into the lobby just past sunrise, large containers of leftovers from Lion's Gate's dinner in his arms, he could tell someone was watching him. As such, he turned his attention to the person waiting for him. "Enjolras, bonjour. Could you not sleep?" He gave a bit of a smile, despite the sinking feeling in his gut that Enjolras was not as pleased to see him. "You haven't been awake this whole time, have you, cher?" And with that, he started heading into the kitchen, to place the boxes in the refrigerator. He assumed Enjolras would follow, but if not, it would only take him a minute at most.
