What: claire got in a little trouble with the law, and there's no nathan or noah to bail her out. uh oh.

Her injuries are healed now, but Voids are still around her, blocking out her ability. It's a little irritating. She should have been more careful, but ... No use crying over spilled milk, right? She had exercised her right to remain silent to the fullest extent, unwilling to give up any information or motive.

She sat in the visitors room, arms crossed. The orange jumpsuit reminded her of when she had been taken in by the government back home.

[ Peter is slamming into the jail because they wouldn't let him in at 4.30 in the morning and it's not like he's actually gotten any sleep since then, so he's on high alert and his nerves are pulled tighter than bow strings, ready and rearing to pop off whatever he needs to.

Spotting Claire in the visitors room, Peter's wandering over in an instant, dropping down across from her with a look somewhere between vast irritation and concern and just about every other emotion in the spectrum. ]

What did you do?

Breaking and entering. [ And assault. ]

Did you get Mr. Muggles? [ Genuine concern in her voice, though it's not just for Mr. Muggles. ]

[askedtobe]

I got Mr. Muggles, he's fine, I promise. He get's along with the cats, they'll have a field day together.

[ SIGH. ] But that's not- Claire, why? You didn't even warn me.

[cheerhealer]

I know. [ a quick inhale. ] I'm sorry. I didn't think anything would happen.

[askedtobe]

You don't have to apologize, I just- [ Look, he already feels like a failure, and this just really isn't helping since he can't help. But that's besides the point so he's not going to say it out loud. ]

Never mind. I'm pretty sure i've got you a lawyer, and i'm figuring bail out. Okay? We'll.. figure this out.

[cheerhealer]

I know we will. [ a quick smile. ] I'm always used to Dad or Nathan getting me out of these kinds of situations before I even get to this point. Ending up in jail has never occurred as an option to me before now.

[askedtobe]

It shouldn't be an option in the first place, Claire. Why did you even-- Why did you try? Why didn't you tell me?

[cheerhealer]

I thought I had it under control and could make it work on my own. And I knew you would try to stop me if I told you.

[askedtobe]

Well, you're right about that at least. [ SIGH. ] At least AGI didn't do anything to you.

[cheerhealer]

I doubt they will. And even if they do, I'll be prepared for it.

[askedtobe]

Just... listen to the lawyers, okay? And once you have your first hearing, i'll make sure to get you out on bail. Whatever it costs.

[cheerhealer]

Yeah. [ And before his visiting time is up, he sneaks in a forced smile, standing and getting ready to go. ] I'll see you soon.
