Jesse didn't mind her being awkward. He was interested in her anyway, just watching the way she behaved. She was real mysterious, not like any of the girls he knew back home. Well, maybe a little like Jane. But he wasn't going to let himself think about Jane right now.

"Yeah," he answered, although he didn't sound quite as enthusiastic about Siren's Port as he once had. Maybe the bruised and beaten state of his face had something to do with that. "Yeah, I like it. If somebody gave me a choice to go home tomorrow, I'd stay here anyway."
