There are a few things one learns when dealing with Eric Slingby. In fact, Alan is certain he could write a book on how to look after Eric and those similar to him. And one of those things was if it was quiet for an extended period of time then something was most certainly going on. The kind of something that could lead to trouble and you won't like.

He stepped from the kitchen having just taken a tray of cookies from the oven. Hearing that chuckle he arched a brow. Most assuredly he was up to something. His fingers leave the tie at his waist as he gets closer.

"What on earth are you doing?" And then he's just there and he can see but there's a delay, a disconnect between what he sees and what is logical...
