Mere moments after Joe reaches the monster, she approaches the girl's side, resting a hand on her shoulder. She looks towards the boy, making sure he has everything under control, as she begins to speak.

"If you can stand, I can—" It's at this moment that she finally turns her attention to the injured girl, seeing the black feathers poking out of her arms for the first time. She lets out a sharp gasp, nearly letting go in a mixture of shock and fright. She stays frozen for a split second before she realizes the monster is moving towards them. For now, those feathers and what they could mean are the least of her worries. She stands, trying to gently pull the girl into a standing position.
