She remains frozen, unable to move, as she watches the light cut through the monster, at the exact moment it seems most human. She lets out a gasp, her eyes widening, before the creature falls silent once more. Devastated, she stares in horror - all darkness creatures were once human, and though she knows this, it doesn't stop the sudden wave of guilt that washes over her. Seeing it so mortal, even for a moment... Before she answers the girl, she has to remind herself that it'll come back the next night, more likely than not.
