If Jake had and were operating under his normal mental faculties, he would have noticed Re-l's foul mood and been wise enough to stay away, at least until the work week was over and they had the opportunity to hang out after work. But thoughts were clouding his mind such that the only thing he could think of was just how cute she looked when she was irritated.

Once she had closed herself off in her office, he made his move. He excused himself from his desk and made a beeline straight for her office, almost bumping into a few people chatting around the water cooler. He slipped past them with a simple "Pardon", and continued straight to Re-l's door without so much as another word. Needless to say, he kept getting a few funny looks as he knocked on Re-l's door and waited for her to let him in.
