Who: Phibrizzo and OPEN
When: September 4th, between 10am and 4pm (just specify when your character is stopping in)
Where: The Seyrunn Shop of Sorcery
What: Business at a magic shop
Warnings: Probably no more than PG
The Seyrunn Shop of Sorcery had two selling points that distinguished them from other magic shops in the city: the magic amulets with spells pre-loaded into them, and Brass Rackets - a sport from the co-owners' world that used enchanted rackets. Neither item required magic ability. Other wares in the shop, such as their selection of magical herbs, ritual items, and other supplies, were for people who were actually magic users. However, the amulets could be used by anyone as a self-defense item against the Darkness monsters, and the rackets depended on the user's strength of will and force of personality.
At the moment, Phibrizzo was placing some of the magic amulets in a sturdy clear glass cabinet that locked. Spotting someone approaching him from the side, he turned to greet them.
"Hello. What can I do for you, today?"

"Hello. What can I do for you, today?"
All right. Finally I make it here! - Let's say 3 p.m.
He was quite pleased when he discovered the name of a new magic shop that must have opened in the city since the last time he had needed to seek out such ingredients.
He was less pleased when he stepped inside the shop and saw who was there to greet him.
"We seem to keep turning up in the same locations."

"Well, we are both magic users and can both use magic related to the dead," Phibrizzo pointed out. "And we're stuck in Siren's Port, so the odds are good that we'd run into each other at least sometimes."
After a moment, Phibrizzo realized the ideal compromise between business sense and annoying Dr. Orpheus. The best way to annoy the man without being rude would be to be knowledgable about the products offered, and to provide good service.
"I'm also the co-owner of this shop. If there's anything you're looking for, I can help you find it. We also do custom orders and offer Darkness proofing as a service."

"Yes, it is all so very logical when you put it that way." It didn't make the reality more enjoyable.
That said, he wasn't one to let a few lingering unpleasant feelings towards the young man keep him from his intended purpose in visiting the shop. Thankfully, it looked like Phibrizzo was ready to keep this meeting professional.
"Co-owner? Even for someone who is mature for your age, isn't owning a business a bit much for you to take on?" "I don't require Darkness proofing," a twinge of annoyance that he tamped down at the implication that he would, "but I am in the market for any items you may have that are suitable as a focus for protective charms."

He knew from experience. This world had the idea that children needed to be protected. Unless they were AGI slaves or SERO experiments, of course.
Phibrizzo led the way past the magic amulets, toward the ritual items.
"All of these here, here, here and here should work," said Phibrizzo, gesturing to a few stones, a set of candles, some magical herbs and some binding cord, "but it depends on what you're protecting against and what kind of items you prefer."

"They all look promising." At first glance, he found the quality acceptable. Nothing that would make clients question whether he had stopped by the Dollar Discount Barn on the way to their home. "I would be interested in hearing which of these you would recommend to drive off the spirit of a lonely middle-aged man who doesn't realize a new family has moved into his childhood home." Orpheus couldn't help it. He wanted to see just how well Phibrizzo knew his trade.

Phibrizzo paused and considered Orpheus' question. Were they not in his shop, he might have asked Orpheus why he didn't know that already. However, since they were in a domain where he needed to behave professionally, he remained polite.
"Well, you'll want an onyx for protection, of course," said Phibrizzo. "Because he's not going to take the truth well at first. A black candle for banishment, too...but if you're trying to help him move on so he won't just find somewhere else or go lose himself in the Darkness, you'll need a white candle for new beginnings and a rose quartz to help him accept the situation and move on."
