Enjolras made the walk before sirens, for safety sake. He sits, drinking coffee, waiting until 10:00
He watches for someone checking a pocket watch.

But he's still wearing his motorcycle helmet and gear when he comes inside the coffee shop; he's practically unrecognizable, save for the gold pocket watch that he brings out of his pocket and checks. He goes to order a coffee, before going outside, checking his watch again, as if waiting for someone.

He reminds himself that no one will try anything in public. He squares his shoulders and tells himself that all is well.
After all, surely anyone could see that his cause is just.
When he sees him check his watch a second time, he watches. And follows.]
Jack?

Sorry if I don't take my helmet off, I- don't want to be seen. I want to help, but not visibly, not now.
[He sounds hesitant, even. (He just wants to make Enjolras feel at ease, at this point. Bribing a shop assistant to keep the patio customer-free was easy, at least.)]
You've got people backing you up?
no subject
I've been contacted by people who expressed displeasure at the slavery. I've had offers, but no one has taken any action yet.
We've done nothing yet.
no subject
Do you really plan to? I can give you financial backing. [He holds his hands up.] I swear I'm not from SERO.
no subject
I hope it will not come to violence. But, I will if I need to.

One of the shop assistants move to the door, bolting it shut.]
Lucky you. That Jack fellow couldn't, did you know?
no subject
We've done nothing...
[He repeats, now on guard, looking as if he'll bolt at any second.]
no subject
[Before Enjolras can bolt, several chains come out of the night, from behind Jack, stabbing into the walls beside the other man.]
He didn't give up easily, though, poor lad. Would you, I wonder?
no subject
I won't be taken easily... you... you're a murderer.
no subject
[Jack advances, and Enjolras can probably see himself reflected in his visor.]
We can do this the easy or hard way, you know. The former would hurt less, of course.
no subject
[When he's close enough, Enjolras kicks out hard, aiming at Jack's knee.
He scrambles and tries to bolt.]
no subject
Running won't do you any good, you know!
no subject
When he sees the scythe, he things he understand. Believing himself about to die, he simply closes his eyes.
He'd never convinced himself he wasn't dead, and this wasn't hell or purgatory or some such place anyway.]
no subject
Oh no, the mercy of death is a mercy earned. Perhaps you would like to feel closer to your cause...?
no subject
I-I've accepted no loans or owe no debt. Kill me if you will... but...
no subject
[chains around his feet, then, binding them together up to his knees.]
Killing you would be left to your masters, yes?
no subject
Then you only prove that I was right. There will be others, and you can't take them all.
LET ME GO!
[And Enjolras' power kicks in. He's not aware of it, but it's there. Whether Jack is effected by it or not remains to be seen, but he may be able to feel it there.]
no subject
thus:]
Be glad it is AGI; SERO would love to get their hands on that lovely voice of yours, lad.
[And he punctuates it with a kick to Enjolras' side.]
no subject
If my voice could be used by your rivals then you'd better hurry up and kill me then.
no subject
[he crouches beside enjolras, helmet tilting to the side.]
You merely need to be taught a lesson or two. As with those who collaborated with you, of course. It is their freedom you have gambled with, Enjolras.
no subject
A few people expressed sympathy for those enslaved. Most just called me a fool. I'm alone. It's the truth!
[The power is still there, for Jack to take as he will.]
no subject
Better to nip it in the bud, right? Perhaps this would make you think twice about the consequences of your actions.
[and then he lifts enjolras up by his collar and gives him a swift hit to his neck, intended to knock him out.]
no subject
Then, he goes out neatly, falling limp.]
