[Her smile lights up again. He agreed to do something! Okay, so no dancing. Oh well, she'll have to shelve her disappointment. It was a long shot anyway.]

I'll come with you.

[As oblivious as she is, she doesn't really need a muddy handprint on her face while she walks around all day.]

Well, I would hope so. You're a mess yourself. [La la la, continued brattiness. Because he can.]

[And so they head down to the water's edge together.] At least you picked a decent spot for this, even if you didn't consider the weather.

[He actually really likes Winthers Lake. He comes out here on his own reasonably often.]

H-hey... [It just never stops with the two of them, does it?]

[Well, two can play at that game.] It's your fault. If you had just come and joined the dance, we wouldn't be all muddy at all.

[She just smiles happily to herself in response to his compliment. She might like compliments from him better than almost anybody else.]

[Nope, it doesn't. The joys of being like siblings.] You're the one who tried to insist that I do something you knew I'd refuse to.

[No kneeling at the water's edge; his pants are muddy enough. But crouching down to splash some water onto his hair is doable. He gives it as thorough a scrub as he can manage under the circumstances, and manages to get most of it out. Whatever is left can be washed away by the rain.]

[Hinamori does the same, splashing water onto her face and trying to wash some of the mud off her dress.] You don't always refuse.

[When she's done, she looks over at him.] You missed a spot!

[She aims a well-directed splash through the water at him, not enough to soak him (not that they're not already wet anyway) but just enough to playfully sprinkle him.]

[And he tolerates it because they're already wet.]

Right. Thanks. [Unlike everything else around here, the sarcasm is dry.] And frankly, so have you, but unless you want to sit in the water, I don't think there's any helping it.

[Hinamori laughs. The sarcasm means it was a success.]

[The rain has finally started to let up. Hinamori twirls the umbrella over her shoulder like a parasol, and looks around.] Shall we grab something to eat for a bit? I bought wa~termelon. [She may or may not have bought it solely for him.]

[And the laughter means the sarcasm was a success. Everyone wins.]

[His brow might go up marginally at the mention of watermelon. It's impossible to miss the teasing, singsong note in Hinamori's voice, but he doesn't care. Because they're talking about watermelon, here.] Well, we can't let that go to waste.

[He wasn't able to attend most of the festivities due to work, but once his shift ends early in the evening, Terra heads out to Winthers Lake to see what's going on.

Just about everything is wrapped up by the time he arrives, but he sticks around and eventually finds his way to the bonfire. Picking a dry spot to kneel (he's an earthy enough guy that he doesn't really mind the mud left from the rain but why get dirtier than you have to), he tries to meditate for a while. Soak in some of the ambiance, wind down after a long day...

... Try very hard to ignore those marshmallows over there.]

I imagine it's a really nice atmosphere. So much colour. [She looks thoughful for a moment] Daffodils, you always know it's spring when you see daffodils.

That's true, isn't it? I really like daffodils too. They always remind me of my best friend Hitsugaya-kun, because that's the flower that's supposed to symbolize his division, back home. [She walks around the table and picks up a handful of daffodils.] Here. Have a seat. You can make a basket while we talk.

[Hinamori does the same, setting down on one of the stools set near the table and taking a basket in her hands, beginning to pick flowers off the table and arrange them into a tiny bouquet.]

[He smiles, pointing to a basket of multi-colored roses that seem to attract his eyesight.] Where I come from, New York, the rose was the state's flower. You happen to know the meaning of that flower?

[YOU WANT THIS FREE FOOD? YOU'RE GOING TO HAVE TO GO THROUGH HER FIRST]

[oh my, what do we have here? Could it be a conveniently, casually extended boot-covered leg right in miss Momo's path? Oh no!]

[Seras smiles at her, what a nice woman. She takes a seat as she's bid and a basket.] Thanks, my name's Seras.

Ah, roses are— easy. Passion.

It depends on the color, though—red is passion for love, yellow is passionate joy, purple is passion for what one sees, white is goodness, and purity. Pink—[Hinamori pauses here, a gentle nostalgic smile on her face]—is passionate thankfulness, and admiration.

[It would seem so! And Hinamori goes flying forward, landing belly-flop style on the ground, the tray in her hands but the juices all over the ground.]

I'm so sorry!

[She turns to look at the person behind her, and is a little startled by the costume, but lets it go easily enough. There were weirder things in the Port, to be honest. And yes, she is apologizing for tripping over him.]

[Hinamori smiles in return.] I'm Hinamori. So are you from around here? [She deliberately leaves the question open-ended, to start conversation. She might be asking whether Seras is a native or a Newcomer, whether she lives nearby, or where she came from originally. But there's no real point to the question—it's just genuine interest in the woman sitting next to her.]

Pleasure to meet you. I'm a Newcomer, I live just in Sector Seven with some friends.

Well, that actually makes sense about New York. We are passionate about a lot of things. Might not be the nicest people about it, but we're very involved.
