Who: Maya Fey and Claire Stanfield
When: Let's say.. a week ago?
Where: Random street in Sector 9
Summary: Maya's been spacey ever since a certain run-in with a certain prosecutor. Claire investigates??
Warnings: CLAIRE IS TOO FABULOUS FOR YOU GUYS. Also maybe angst but hopefully not.
[Her mind's been wandering a lot. Not so much because of the disappearances, right now (she's resigned herself to it. Better if they were at their homes and safe, anyway), but more.. because of the reappearances. Phoenix had been here for a couple of months already, and though she was beginning to untense she couldn't help but worry about him, considering what had happened before--
There was Edgeworth, who Maya was slightly less worried about. There was Wolfwood, with no memory of here or... her (but Maya refused to be upset when he was alive and had a chance at life again - that was way more important than any stupid thing she felt. He mattered. She didn't.).
And there was Pearl. Pearl, her little cousin, Pearl, her only (blood) family, Pearl - her little sister figure, for all intents and purposes. Pearl, who'd gotten snatched and preyed on by Von Karma and Maya hadn't even known she was here before then. Her cousin. Her family. Her little sister figure - and she could have been hurt or used or.. anything, and Maya wouldn't have known a single thing about it.
She was safe now, but that didn't mean the little spirit medium didn't feel lower than dirt. She'd failed so many times before, what if... Pearl....
These thoughts have been plaguing her recently, and as a result she's taking to spacing out. As she's walking along the street, where she usually would have been paying attention, she isn't. Anything could be happening - there could be all sorts of interesting things she isn't spotting, cool events she isn't noticing, animals she isn't petting, or people she isn't seeing--
There could be someone right in front of her, and she won't even notice. Honestly, she's just not paying attention]
