OPEN!
Who:Yosuke and anyone who feels like hanging out in the park.
When:Any time between him getting tossed in the clinker and kicked back out. So, during the first half of the month of May.
Where:The park! Or a city street. Anywhere there might be some trash that needs picking up by delinquents kids.
Summary:If you've ever wanted an excuse to have your character bump into him, here's a good one? Hah, I don't know. He's just going to pick up trash and whine about it. Maybe accidentally uncover a snake and squeal like a little girl. Nothing very heavy going on here right now.
Warnings:Orange jumpsuits, ankle bracelets, and lots of complaining about being made to do actual hard work. Possibly trying to barter a soda off someone or something dumb like that. But no real warnings!
OOC note:I posted something for visiting him on the inside before and then realized it was hard for people without close CR to tag (sorry guys I'm dumb) so I asked if it would be cool to post one that was similar but more inclusive to everyone. Good news, it got the okay, and here it is!
Prose and [action] tags are both fine by me!
It's not a bad day out. The wind is whipping things around a bit, but the sun is shining for once. It's bright and clear and aside from being a little chilly for mid spring, it's not bad out at all. The birds are singing in the trees, there are flowers rustling in the breeze, and there are plenty of kids at play dropping juice boxes in the grass.
A daydreamy looking kid is standing around in an ugly jumpsuit, occasionally picking up a bit of litter and tossing it into a sack. But he's mostly just looking around at everything like he's never seen it before.
To people who know him, the lack of headphones might be a little startling. But to pretty much anyone else he just looks like a normal kid. Who happens to have a number printed on his clothing. And a tracking collar around his ankle. And an odd sort of fondness for the dapples the leaves make on the back of his hands when he holds them up under the light.
He'd probably be about the last guy you'd expect to steal your car. But that's exactly why he's picking up trash today. Go figure, huh?

The park is a nice place, full of children and families, the sound of birds singing, though no mockingjays that she can see. But still, it's so nice... not like the Capitol or the Districts. The people look normal, and happy.
She spots the boy in his strange bright suit and looks curiously at him.]
What are you doing?

[The part where he's outside at long last is pleasant, though. And the sunlight. He's starting to remember how much he loves sunlight, after not seeing any at all for over a week.]
Paying my dues to society, I guess. What are you doing?
no subject
Exploring.
no subject
[Nope, sorry kid. You're better off not knowing. But he plops down onto the grass in a sunny patch, like he isn't particularly concerned about whether he gets all the trash picked up or not.]
Exploring, huh? You must be new.
[He shades his eyes with one hand to take a peek at her. Yeah, not familiar. The other hand he holds out to shake.]
Hanamura Yosuke. I'm a Greeter, so if you have any questions or problems I might be able to help you with, let me know.

Uh...usually I am. I swear. But I. Uh.
[Yosuke sighs, and the smile drops away again. He pulls up the cuff of his jumpsuit and reveals the tracer, sheepishly.]
I can't go that far. Not even across the street to get a soda.
[That last part is with a wistful look.]

[He lets her examine the tracer, if she wants to. He's pretty sure she can't hurt it just by looking at it. Not unless she has laser beam eyes or something like that.]
It's just a mistake, though. Someone's going to help me out soon. I'm pretty sure. They...you know. People said they would do something to help.
no subject
[Because that's what Rue expects from these sorts of things;;;]
That's awful, I hope they do help you.
no subject
Wha-no! I-I hope not! I mean, I mean...I don't think so. That would be pretty screwed up, right?
no subject
It's the kind of thing they'd do where I come from.
no subject
[He frowns a little. She's so small.]
Uh. I'm pretty sure they don't do things like that around here.
...Often.
[Cough.]
So try not to be afraid, alright? Except at night. You should definitely stay inside at night, alright?
no subject
Often? [She smiles and nods.] Lot's of people have told me that, I'll be very careful.
no subject
[He's serious too, if a little grudgingly so.]
Good. If you ever need help, you should call someone you trust, alright? There are lots of creeps around.
no subject
[Still crouching, arms wrapped round her knees and watching Yosuke. She blinks, no one told her that before.] Creeps? Bad people?
no subject
[He tucks the tracer back away inside his clothes, now that she's had a chance to examine it.]
Yeah. You probably don't need to worry! I doubt they'd want to hurt someone small and cute like you. Just try to be careful around people you don't know, I guess.
no subject
[Rue blinks, giving him a small smile.] I'm always careful around people I don't know.
no subject
[A shrug, though he frowns a little thoughtfully at the last part. He can see it, actually. It's a strange and kind of concerning behavior for a kid to have.]
...Not everyone here is bad. There are some people who will help you, too.
no subject
no subject
[Nope, he doesn't even pretend not to be surprised. Then again, Yosuke's first meeting with Jesse hadn't exactly been friendly and reassuring, and neither had his second one.]
Uh...
no subject
[He also gave her a lot of money but she's not going to tell anyone that.]
no subject
[Somehow, this provokes a slightly indignant response. Though Yosuke curbs it quickly, because hey, at least someone was looking out for the kids that winded up in the diamond.]
Um. It's good that he helped you out.
[Maybe the guy wouldn't be violent or dangerous as long as he stayed off the drugs...]
no subject
... a Greeter? [She looks slightly indignant that you're criticising Jesse :|]
no subject
It's what I do. Or what I used to do, anyway.
[Whatever, Rue, you just don't understand okay. Drugs make people scary as hell. Luckily, you caught that dude when he was off them. Hopefully still, anyway. Though there's a lot of other reasons Yosuke doesn't trust the guy, and most of them are all publicly open to your perusal.]
Greeters watch the diamond for new people, and help them get settled in.

You can't do it anymore because you got in trouble?
