Summary: Several days prior Ella invited some friends over for tea.

[ She promised a social occasion at the house - nothing fancy. Just friends gathering, chatting... but after seeing the news yesterday morning, she didn't have the heart for it. But it would be expected of her - she couldn't dismiss it now, so soon to the event. She'd been sitting on the bed for the past hour, unwilling to move, thinking.

Eventually she shook her head, raising her hands clutch at the sides of her head briefly. No. No crying. Out of the corner of her eye, she saw Kyra sitting by the foot of the bed, watching her. She smiled briefly, patting the wolf. Despite what she knew what Griffin to have gone through back home... she wished he had just been spirited back there rather than be dead.

With some effort, she walked downstairs, ignoring the magic mirror on the wall to get the house ready for the day. She couldn't greet guests - whoever shows - all gloomy now could she? ]

[That meant that Ella would have full access to grill him on whether he was okay or not. Frau definitely wasn't looking forward to it. Still, he wasn't going to just turn around, so he walked into the house and prepared himself for what was to come.]

Ella!

[Hattie yells from the kitchen, having not heard the door knocking.]

This catalog has 'Dragon's Pearl Green Tea'! The leaves are shaped like -pearls-! [And are absurdly expensive!] Can you imagine drinking pearls??

[She walks over to the doorway with an excited expression, which then becomes a surprised one.] Frau! [Then a frown. She remembers that dog.] And.. Mimsy.

[Flonne was bringing her rabbit, wasn't she. Fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu-!!!]

[ If she weren't grieving for Griffin, or knew Frau as well as she has Arieda, she would probably press him a little. However, she doesn't, so he won't be getting any questions from her. ]

It's fine. She's been here before.

[ There is a wolf padding down the stairs at this point, ears perked curiously. Oh she remembers that pup. Ella paused at the shout from Hattie, smiling slightly. ]

No my lady, I can't. [ But you're going to make me order it anyway, aren't you. She waved Frau inside, to shut the door behind him, and edged over to Hattie to whisper. ]

He just found out that a friend of his was killed the other day but he doesn't seem to want to talk about it. I think it's best we avoid the subject for now.

[ Nevermind Ella herself didn't want to address it. ]

Flonne and Lady Sheila should be along shortly.

[Frau set Mimsy down on the ground and let the puppy do whatever she wanted. He trusted her. While Mimsy might get into mischief, she didn't seem like the type of animal to cause real trouble. Not like Tolly would.

He glanced up in surprise when Hattie's voice drifted out, followed by the actual woman. Frau wasn't overly sure he was up for his usual flirting, but he would give it a try. Maybe it would help keep his mind off of Kevin.]

Hattie. I didn't know you were here.

[When Ella continued again, he couldn't help raising an eyebrow in mild surprise. Two more women were coming? Awesome. It would just be him and the girls.]

[Lucky Frau indeed! Hattie seemed pleased enough to see the other blonde, she pausing as Ella whispered into her ear.

Her brow raised slightly, though she had enough tact to hide the fact her stepsister was talking about their company.]

Oh. Well, then I'll be sure to call them tomorrow. And that's good, I haven't seen Miss Sheila in a while, that should be fun.

And yes, certainly enough I'm here, Frau! You didn't think you could get rid of me that easily, did you? [She gave a fluttering laugh.] Oh! Did you know Ella and I started a business? You should consider our services sometime; you'd get to see Ella in a short skirt~.

[What was that about tact again?]

[ Ella turned away from Hattie. ]

Hattie lives here with me. [ Ella explained to Frau, glancing sidelong at Hattie. Twitch. So much for tact. ]

Why don't we go into the living room until the girls get here?

[Frau nodded at Ella's explanation, glad that someone had decided to give him one. The mention of short skirts peaked Frau's interest, and he glanced at Hattie with a crooked smile.]

What type of business is this?

[He didn't wait for an answer before following Ella into the living room, figuring Hattie would answer as they walked. Only Frau wasn't really going to give her a chance to answer once he saw what the room looked like. He paused a step into the room, jaw hanging slack.]

Holy shit.

[Living at the church, luxury like this didn't really exist. All of the bishop's room held a bed and a small table. Much more than that wasn't provided. The rooms of the Assistant Archbishop and Archbishop were a bit more elaborate, but nothing anywhere close to this.]

.. What? Ella, you two worked together, didn't you? And you've never told him that we live in the same house?

[She shakes her head as if saying 'You're terrible'. That aside, of course she was going to brag about the new business that was underway- but was caught by surprise by Frau's reaction to the living room.

Actually, having been at his house, the reaction did make sense. She has the overwhelming urge to brag, but she fights it. She fights it -really- hard. She teases instead.]

It never came up, my lady. [ It's true too! She tends not to discuss Hattie whenever possible - you never know who's listening or if it might get back to the elder stepsister and bite Ella in the afterburners. If she had afterburners. ]

[ Also don't brag. Ella's the one who decorated, damnit. Still Frau's reaction does get a surprised blink from the younger girl. ]

I've never seen anything like this before. At the church there are chairs and stuff, some couches in the library, but it's nothing this...

[He floundered around a little bit for the right word.]

Elaborate? It's like something you'd see in District One.

[Which for Frau was saying something, though Ella and Hattie probably had no idea what that even meant.]

[Hattie had not the slightest idea, no. Still, she was practically beaming with pride at Frau's reaction. It didn't matter that Hattie hadn't earned a single cent of this household!]

Is that right? Well, I suppose having to house so many people would be a strain on its budget..

District One? Is that a famous place? I've never heard of it. [She eyes him.] That is a compliment, right?

[ From Frau's reaction Ella assumed District One was fairly nice, if not ritzy. ]

Is that from your world, District One? [ Because she doubted he meant SECTOR One. ]

Make yourself comfortable, Frau. [ A pause as she heard a knock at the door. ]

Excuse me, that must be another guest. I'll be right back.

District One is where the Barsburg Royal Family and the military reside. You could call it like the capital city or something.

[Frau hasn't been there recently, but the memories of it are still there. Not like he ever lurked around much. Sky pirates weren't exactly welcome.]

[Hattie didn't even seem to notice Ella walked off, she was far too amused by Frau.]

Oh wow, that sounds really interesting! I'd love to live with a Royal Family -and- their military. That has to be the most wonderful thing! Ah but, thank you. And please, have a seat!

[Taking her own advice, she sits on the sofa.]

Yes, 'as in Ella'! [Beat] Though.. Seeing as you two work together, I suppose that would end up being a little awkward, wouldn't it.

Really? You know it's funny you say that, I have the same problem! Have you ever heard of Toushirou? I've been nothing but nice to him, yet all he does is scowl at me and mutter nasty things under his breath! It's clearly not a good idea for me to go to his place, but I just don't know what to do..

[The blonde huffs, oblivious to Frau's suspicions. After all, she's a very generous person! But she's distressed enough to not make a big deal of his decline.]

Oh that's fine. Well, I'm glad he's not coming today. *siiiigh*

[ Once she greeted the two girls (leaving Hattie to greet Tardis when she goes to get the mail), Ella poked her head into the living room. ]

It looks like our guests are here - I'm going to put the kettle on for some tea. Hattie, do you want me to use that new blend you were talking about earlier? The Dragon's Blend?

[ A pause, and she glances at Frau. ]

Unless you would like a different blend Frau - we have a couple of different types.

[Yes, Frau knows Toushirou, and he's going to unintentionally provide Hattie with a means of tormenting the shinigami.]

Frostbitty? Yeah, I know him. He's helped me out a few times.

[And not with little things either. When Ella comes back over asks about tea, Frau just shrugs. None of it will come close to Lab's so he's not picky.]

I'm up for whatever.

[Hattie huffs.] That's the problem, we don't have the Dragon's Pearl blend, you're thinking of something else! We'll just have to buy some for next time, express delivery isn't going to ship it fast enough.. *sigh*

[Hattie isn't surprised that Frau is 'up for whatever'. Luckily she's good at making decisions for him.]

Something else..? OH! Then you simply must try this new green tea we have, it's called 'Golden Jade', doesn't that just sound so exotic?? The shynese have such alluring names for tea! Ella, we'll have the Golden Jade~.

Did you just say 'Frostbitty'? [She giggles] That is adorable! So, wait, you two hang out? Did you notice if he likes anything in particular?

We don't? Are you sure? [ Or was that in the package Byakuya gave her for her birthday? ... hrm. Oh well, better roll with it. ]

All right, then I'll g-- did you say shynese?

[ Really? REALLY? Weren't they called Chainese or something like that? You know what - nevermind. Though she does have presence of mind to mention something else on her way out to the kitchen. ]

If you're referring to Hitsugaya, he doesn't like to be called that.

[ Surely Hattie wouldn't call him something he hates right? Right? ... shut up, she's optimistic. ]

[Frau didn't really care much about names of tea. They were all too widely different from what he was used to, and none of them were similar.

He did, however, care about teasing Hitsugaya.]

[He cast Ella a quick glance and a grin.]

Of course he hates it. That's the point!

Though, no, I don't really hang out with him all that often. Our paths have just crossed a few times.

She'll speak up, but only when she presumes it's proper for her to do so.]
