[ Dave is on pins and needles when he heads out that afternoon. he leaves right at two, so he can get to Jade's right at thirty-seven past (he fully intends to arrive no sooner and no later than exactly 2:37 pm, completely ironically of course), and makes sure to do it via his bedroom window so that nobody sees him leave. not that he supposes they won't notice right away, but still. exiting through his window and climbing down the drainage pipe is pretty much how he does a lot of things these days.

nobody in the Stryrope house really question it. or anything else for that matter.

he doesn't know if he should dress up but decides not to, just his typical red sleeve shirt and some inordinately skinny jeans for his inordinately skinny frame, and he doesn't know if he should bring anything so he just loads up his sylladex with the essentials: WALLET (1+2+1+1+2+1=8), NV (1+1=2), SWORD (1+1+2+1+1=6), other CRAP (1+1+2+1=5), and a FLOWER—no wait—a DAISY (1+2+2+1+1=7), there we go, to give to Jade because you're supposed to give girls flowers, right, and he didn't have room in his sylladex for a BOUQUET (1+2+2+1+2+2+1=11), plus he didn't know where to buy one, anyway.

alas.

anyway. being the knight of time, he arrives at Jade's apartment right on schedule and knocks on her door at precisely 2:37 PM. truly yet another rung climbed on his irony echeladder. Bro would be proud—not that he plans to tell him. or anyone. this is a clandestine operation, and it's a wonder he managed to get up the nerve to even make this a thing in the first place. he may have a calm exterior, but underneath that he's sweating bullets. ]

[ she is not really overthinking this hand-holding thing since she spends like 90% of her time friend-manhandling the people around her, and is instead considering things like you know what a nice day it is, they'll have fun. she also spends a lot of her time kind of wandering around, so she'll be looking to see if she recognizes the way they take at all. she's curious! ]
