[Zachariah is a big believer in doing things properly, whatever the occasion. And his usual buttoned-up routine doesn't really suit the whimsical procession. So he's taken the form of a little kid as he marches along through the surf. He sees Rue nearby and splashes her playfully.]

[Rue jumps and blinks, then laughs brightly, splashing water back at him.] Hi!

[He clutches his heart and pretends to stagger for a second as the water hits him, then smiles and sloshes over, offering his hand to shake.]

Hi! Having fun?

[Rue laughs and takes his hand]

Lots! I'm Rue, what's your name?

Pretty name.

[Totally professional bb!handshake, at which point he is sort of at a loss for what to do next.]

I'm Zach.

Thank you. Nice to meet you. [She wriggles her toes in the sand, then hurriedly hops along as the procession keeps moving.] Are you a Newcomer?

[He nods, hands shoved in his jacket pockets.]

I haven't been here very long either. I like it here, I think it's an amazing place.

Yeah? What do you like about it?

[treehopping]

[That it's not the arena wants to come from her lips but Rue restrains that.] There's magic! Like this! [She gestures at the procession.]

We don't have any magic at home.

We do.

[Pause.]

Not everyone with magic is as nice as the lion. Okay?

[She blinks, almost faltering a step before gracefully catching herself.] I heard about bad people here...

[He scoops up a handful of sea foam, and it convulses faintly in his palm, until he holds out a perfectly formed rue blossom, its five petals the same off-white as the foam. The stem is clear, a sculpture in water that looks like glass. It's wet to the touch but doesn't lose its shape.]
