Who: Mr. Gold and Xigbar
When: Backdated to Friday.
Where: Xino E. Mao Office
Summary: Mr. Gold and Xigbar have something in common.

[Henry D. Spencer the Third had made a visit to Mr. Gold's newly acquired pawnshop on Wednesday. Mr. Gold didn't know that was him, not right off the bat. But you didn't have too many men come into the shop looking for antique hunting rifles.
Of which they had several, but that wasn't the point. The point was, as the two men got to talking, that there was a reason why he needed a hunting rifle. A man didn't need an antique when there were such better ones out there, now. Not unless they needed it for some sort of special ceremony, or to make a point. As the two of them began talking, with Mr. Gold casually probing into what could possibly make this man want to get an old rifle, the subject of the hunting grounds came up. Then, the getting ready for a special kind of hunt. Then, how both Spencer and Mr. Gold enjoyed the Most Dangerous Game.
Which led to the offer. The deal was made, the contract signed, and the hunter let him know that there were other people working on this sort of thing. That's when Mr. Gold thought it best to go see these Xino E. Mao people in person.]
Hello. [He came up to the receptionist with a smile, cane muffled against the carpet.]
I was wondering if a Mr. Xigbar was available to talk to?

[ She chats for about a minute with someone on the other line. Hanging up, she indicates the elevator on the far side of the hallway. ]
Mr. Xigbar's office is on the top floor. His secretary will assist you further.
[ Once Mr. Gold takes the elevator up, he'll arrive in a posh office with a rather unique design. Odd shapes and unusual colors, splashed together to make an interesting, lively mix.
The secretary is waiting for him. ]

Hello, dearie. I'm Mr. Gold, I was told to speak with you about seeing Mr. Xigbar?

[ The secretary pushes one of the speed dials, and waits for it to ring. ]
Mr. Xigbar? There's a Mr. Gold here to see you. [ A pause. ] All right. I'll send him in.
[ She hangs up and looks at him. ]
He's waiting for you.
[ She gestures at the double doors. ]

[He adds the last part with a wink as he goes through the doors, cane tapping one of them before it shut behind him.]

Looking up, Xigbar smiles and rises to greet his visitor. ]
Mr. Gold, I presume.
[ He holds out his hand. ]

Mr. Xigbar. It's a pleasure to finally meet you. You are a hard man to get a hold of, it seems. [He reaches out, giving him a firm handshake and then letting go. He sat in the chair, his cane out in front of him.]

Smiling still, he shakes the other hand and returns to his seat. He laughs briefly and shrugs. ]
What can I say, Mr. Gold? My employers like to keep me busy.
[ He folds his hand in front of him, all business-like. ]

One of the reasons I prefer working for myself. Though, I'd never say no to someone giving an idea.
[He smiles.] A man stopped by my shop the other day, and mentioned your name. I suppose I should have called, but I find there's so much to learn from meeting someone in person.

[ His interest is piqued. ]

He did, actually. Came in looking for an antique hunting rifle, he seems to be some sort of wild game hunter? A Mr. Spencer. The third. He was very specific about that.

Mr. Spencer the Third. [ He taps his chin lightly. ] I do remember meeting a fella by that name.
[ Another smile. ]

Yes, I think he did. As luck would have it, I had several, more in the back then the front. He seems like a man who'll only have the best, I'm sure you've noticed that, after working with him.

His expression doesn't change. ]
He's one to be particular, that much I'll say.
[ Of course, Xigbar thought the man's obsession with hunting was silly at best, but well, to each their own. ]
He does have a bit of a problem with grudges, though.
