13 non-native 'game' waited in cages for the electronic latch to spring, waited to fight for their lives, deep at the dead ends of separate caverns underground. The minotaurs were loaded into the labyrinth, every inch the monsters to be slaughtered. For fun. For a challenge.
Hunters on the field waited at ground level, just beyond the inner gate. These lucky sports were armed to the teeth with their choice of weapons, traps and personal gear, several thousand dollars sunken into their one-of-a-kind safari.
At noon, Spencer's lazy drawl crackled over an old PA system. It wasn't his priority to replace, unlike the rest of his land, which was carefully groomed for the thrill of the hunt, laden with diverse environments and an inventive love for the chase that only a territorial game warden could manufacture on this scale.
He didn't need to start things with a flourish. He was laconic that way, grinning as he struck a match on his teeth and lit his pipe, leaning back in his chair with eyes on his camera feeds. Time for a show.
"Okay, Ladies. Gentlemen. Load and move out. Lets get this hunt underway."
He lifted a rifle onto his shoulder, and turned to the open window on his left, squinting at a squirrel which has perched on a post outside the lodge.
He lets them repopulate. There's nothing like popping squirrels off your porch.
...or starting the hunt off officially with a bang.
[OOC: Tagging order is totally open, and setting elements are varied. We fully intend there to be damage to the grounds. [ACTION] style logging is perfectly fine, considering how large a group this is, but prose style works too. Split up or group together! Threadhop and run into others if you want as well.
Basic weapons (knives, spears, stone bludgeons, axes, etc) can be found here and there to give the hunted a 'fair' chance.
The hunting grounds are all very nearly man made, through the flora has taken over the top part over the years. It has elements of forest/jungle, sand traps, caves, a small lake, fields and other hiding places. It also has about 4 stories of underground tunnels, caves, bunkers, rooms with strange settings and endless paths one could take. Feel free to point out your own interesting location if needed, seeing as he’s had time to build it all up in this place.
Nighttime Survivors face a whole new element after siren. Darkness-mutated exotic wild animals, ranging from polar bears, tigers, buffalo, wolves, gorillas, anacondas and white rhinos populate the grounds. Human mutation prowl the night too, casualties of other hunts like yours. Good luck!]

TEAM WASHU (TUNNELS } No tagging order. Come in as you see fit.
She tugged at the collar around her neck- that part was annoying. She didn't need three guesses to figure out what it did either. What she didn't know was what would trigger it.
The answer came rather suddenly when, frowning and kneeling on the ground, she raised her fingers to bring her computer forth and was immediately met with a sharp electric shock. The hologram fizzled and died as she screamed in agony and when it stopped, she was shaking. Her next instance was to angrily phase-shift through the bars, but that was met with a much stronger resistance and she ended up on the ground, panting and baring her teeth.] Oh, someone's gonna pay for this. [Her threat withered and died, however, because when the doors to her prison opened, she had nothing else on her mind but moving forwards.]
Oh, I see. [She stepped outside the confines of the pen, her tone dry.] You want me to come to you, huh? Well, if you insist.
[She started walking, not deterred by being unable to do scans or use any of her abilities. It's not like she needed any of that. The greatest scientific genius in the universe couldn't have gotten anywhere in life if she didn't know how to use that brain of hers.]
midafternoon or something i guess :|a
By the time she runs into what appears to be a thirteen-year-old girl, Mary's already found a spear and fought off a minotaur hard enough to make it run. When she sees the girl, Mary's heart just about bleeds out of her chest. She runs to her side instantly.]
Oh my god, are you okay?
MOO HA HA
And anyway, the collar's more interesting. How do you like your personal space, Mary? Washu? Washu likes hers invaded. And she'll be happy to share that kink with anyone.]
Hmm. You've got one too. Well, come on then. Let's see it. [And now it's ABUNDANTLY clear that said "child" isn't a child- no child talks with that deep of a voice. And, in case Mary didn't quite catch the command in that, she points to the ground a bit.] Lean down a bit, wouldja?

I'm sorry, who are you? What's your name?

[....K.]
Mary Winchester. Are you hurt?

Or the monster hunting us like animals.

[So bitter.]

[She claps her hands together and starts walking.] But who cares about the psychology of it. The important thing is that we avoid them.
[Definition of Calm.]

[Okay, Winchester, back to hunting basics. You know this.]
If we can outlast them and out-maneuver them, we can find an escape route. Even if only one of us gets out, they can bring cavalry.

Sorry this is late, and later in the day if that's cool?
But that wasn't what he was concerned about, as the sun dipped lower and lower in the sky. Looking back up at the big blue again, Jake couldn't help but frown, a nagging worry in the back of his mind as he headed back over to the rest of the group. Attacking the house? Fine. Evading hunters? Fine. But the Darkness was much deadlier than anything else they had here. He hadn't spotted any sign of the supposed hunters anyway. They may have been checking other parts of the grounds.
Either way, he made a straight beeline for the pink-haired gal he'd met only a few hours ago. She appeared to be a natural leader, which was fine. Jake probably would have if no one else had stepped up. He approached her to give his report, speaking quietly on the off-chance there was still someone around who wasn't friendly.]
Ain't seen a damn soul yet since that scare a few hours ago. Looks like we may be safe here for a mite longer. Ain't sure we should stay for long, though.
TOTALLY FINE. :D
And, in this situation, Washu knew how to make it work.]
That's because they won't come out in the Darkness. [She's amused by that thought.] They'll hunt things they can predict and control and ferret out, but even they're too big and tough for what comes out at night. [She claps her hands together.] Well, we'll show them, won't we?
[Not that it answers their current question- they're exposed out here and unsafe, but Washu, as always, is going somewhere with this- it just might take her a moment.]
