The setup is probably more elaborate than anticipated. Jesse's paying for it all out-of-pocket, but as he has a drug dealer's income, he's splurged on all the best stuff.

The food includes everything that everyone suggested on his post. Hotdogs, hamburgers, veggie burgers, pizza, chips, cookies, cake... There's an open bar for all the alcoholic drinks and a table with coolers for all the rest.

The music is selected by your host, Jesse, who's also the main DJ for the event. That guarantees a selection of varying quality that focuses heavily on hip-hop, rap, and dubstep. It's not always kid-friendly, but it's good for dancing.

General entertainment comes in the form of swimming, beach volleyball, a bonfire as the sun begins to set (including s'mores!), and a huge fireworks display just before sirens.

Security is being handled by Jesse's goons. You didn't think he'd host a Newcomer party without them, right? They're armed and much stronger than he is, so don't mess. A few healers are also on hand for first-aid.

Transportation back to the Tower Apartments via shuttle is also provided at the end of the night. (He really splurged.)

[The drink drops right out of his hand, and he takes a huge step backwards, eyes wide. No. No way. She couldn't be...but she was so nice! She's always seemed so nice. Yosuke's mouth moved, but no words came out. He could only shake his head. No way was Seras a vampire, that had to be a joke.]

[She starts.]

I... didn't tell you that, huh? [Oh God so embarassed now.] S-sorry.

[Nope, still backing away. Sorry, Seras. He's got a Thing about vampires these days.]

I'm sorry! I thought... I haven't been trying to hide it! I won't hurt you, I don't hurt people, I swear. [Ahhh dear D:]

[His hands are around his neck now, however helpful that may or may not be.]

[He makes a disgusted sound. Sorry, Seras.]

So you do drink blood! I knew that lady was lying!

Wh... what lady? [Now she's confused too, and hurt.]

I haven't exactly been secret about it anywhere. [She looks down.] ... when what?

[He folds his arms over his chest, stance suddenly more defensive. That's not his secret to spill.]

Forget I said anything. I'd better go check on Keigo. By now someone's probably stolen his trunks or locked him in a changing room or something.

[bloodthirsts]

[Sera slooks down, grimacing.]

Beef... curry? Erm, no. No. [She shakes her head.

Why would he smell like beef curry?]

So, if people don't taste good, why bother?

It's not that blood doesn't taste good... it just doesn't taste like beef curry.

And well I... I have to. I tried not to for the longest time... I didn't want to... but then something happened and I realised...

[Her eyes are sad.] I'm not evil, I'm not. I hunt the evil ones.

That was figurative. And when you say "something happened" it's obviously something bad. You might as well just say it now. Did you snap and kill a bunch of people like in the movies?

[Seras looks aside.] Back home... there's a war, pretty much, the city was being invaded. I was fighting against the enemy, and someone I cared about...

[Then she looks straight at Yosuke suddenly and though it's a bright sunny day it suddenly seems darker, the red of her eyes brighter.] He asked me to drink his blood, so I could be strong enough to beat them. And I did beat them.

So I'm not ashamed of it, I know what I am and I know who I am.

[Alright. That's new and unexpected.]

He died, saving me. But not really... it's hard to explain.

[The blood is the life. Yosuke might get freaked out more though by the knowledge that when she drinks someone's blood she could literally take their soul.

Not that Pip's here now and as always when she thinks about that the sadness and the ache of missing him rises up.]
