You gotta fight for your right to party.
Who: OPEN TO EVERYBODY!!! Even if you don't know who Jesse is. Word-of-mouth invitation.
When: Noon 'til evening sirens of Wednesday, July 4
Where: The beach!
Summary: An excuse to party and set off fireworks.
Warnings: Put 'em in your subject lines.
Notes: Meme-style! Tag in, tag around, have fun and whatever... yo.
The setup is probably more elaborate than anticipated. Jesse's paying for it all out-of-pocket, but as he has a drug dealer's income, he's splurged on all the best stuff.
The food includes everything that everyone suggested on his post. Hotdogs, hamburgers, veggie burgers, pizza, chips, cookies, cake... There's an open bar for all the alcoholic drinks and a table with coolers for all the rest.
The music is selected by your host, Jesse, who's also the main DJ for the event. That guarantees a selection of varying quality that focuses heavily on hip-hop, rap, and dubstep. It's not always kid-friendly, but it's good for dancing.
General entertainment comes in the form of swimming, beach volleyball, a bonfire as the sun begins to set (including s'mores!), and a huge fireworks display just before sirens.
Security is being handled by Jesse's goons. You didn't think he'd host a Newcomer party without them, right? They're armed and much stronger than he is, so don't mess. A few healers are also on hand for first-aid.
Transportation back to the Tower Apartments via shuttle is also provided at the end of the night. (He really splurged.)
Party hard!!!

During the fireworks | Open
I wish they'd have let me help with the big fireworks. I gotta figure out how to get on the roster for next year.

[He only glances in Axel's direction long enough to register the familiar face.] Planning that far ahead?

[His eyes linger on the display in the sky a moment, and then he glances at Hitsugaya sidelong. He saw that Hinamori's name had vanished from the network--he has a tendency to check the list every couple of days, just to take inventory and make sure all of his friends are still around. It always kind of stung, he'd noticed, to see that someone else's friend had disappeared, even if it didn't affect him directly. Having his friends from home was really all that made this place any better than being dead, really. What would he have done if Roxas and Xion left?
[With a sigh, he turns his eyes back to the sky and leans back on his hands again.]
Maybe there should be. [A pause, and he presses his lips together.] More occasions, that is.

[And there's one less person to drag him, now.
[He just shrugs.] I suppose some people would argue in favour of that.
[Not him, obviously. Though he wouldn't waste time arguing against it, either.]

[Which is about as close as he usually gets to saying he likes something. He's not getting into the reason why he likes them.]

[He's pretty sure he knows, but you remind him a lot of Saïx. Or, well... maybe more of Isa, really. Either way, sometimes people need prodding, and then once they've snapped about what's bothering them they feel better. Axel doesn't mind being snapped at for a good cause.]

Tch. I'm fine. [Totally. Really. You'd think he'd have realized by now that he's a pretty crappy liar.]
no subject
Liar. 75% of your responses have been single-syllable words; that's terse even for you.
no subject
[Nope, not addressing what you said at all.]

[He sits up then, folding up his legs and planting his palms on his ankles. He really wants Toushirou to admit to what's eating him, but he's definitely not the type to force him to talk. What a predicament~ With a sigh he casts his eyes up toward the sky again.]
So do they do fireworks much where you come from? You seem familiar with them, at least.

[But. The topic shift he can work with.] They're popular at the new year and a few other holidays. Sometimes birthdays.
