It's Ben's enthusiasm that get him. It reminds him of Sam right away and even though there's that nagging feeling in the back of his mind that he'll never get that back he pushes it aside to do this with the kid. It's about him. They've all had a hell of a time lately and they both could use the escape.

Dean brings his sparkler up and touches it to Ben's it snaps loudly and sparks to life just like his, sending fragments out over Dean's arm and onto the grown that glow and fizzle out.

"Happy 4th, buddy," Dean gives him a light shove. "This knocks sittin' on our asses at the apartment outta the water."
