[What's this? Washu actually taking the street instead of the link between her lab and Szayel's closet? SOMETHING MUST BE UP. Either way, she's running towards Nelliel from the house, looking a little winded and surprised, but otherwise calm.] What the hell is that thing?

I have no idea...but I will send messages to the other Espada. I don't want that thing to damage Nueva Las Noches.

[She doesn't doubt that she could win. What she doubts is her ability to win without substantial property damage.]

[Luppi comes outside a few minutes after getting the message. He looks annoyed at having to be there.]

Did you have to call me? I just worked a double.

[He perks up a little.]

That's when two guys...

[Now, he notices the monster. His voice trails off and he stares.]

[Szayel arrives shortly after Luppi, having to herd the kids into their little bed house because they wanted to see what was going on too. He had a machine slung over his shoulder -- a strange thing with various knobs and dials -- and he still looked rather tired.]

I suppose we are to attempt to capture this thing, yes?

[He paused a moment, turning to the speechless Luppi and giving him a sneer.]

Speechless again, Luppi? I thought only I could do that to you.

[Ulquiorra is the last to arrive in response to Neliel's clarion call for the defense of Nueva Las Noches. His hands are deep in his pockets, and frankly, the Cuarta looks entirely unamused at the prospect of having to be around this "team" gathered here. Any one of the Espada would have sufficed to stop this irritant, so he looks from Luppi, to Szayel, as if this is all their fault for requiring supervision.]

[Washu is just here for the science. One of these things is not like the other~

But really she could care less that she's the odd one out. Her little holographic laptop's out and her fingers are flying over the keys.]

Huh. According to the bio scans, it's got the same traces of Core radiation as any newcomer, but everything else is just off-the-charts. It's like a giant mass of negative energy. [She side-eyes the rest of the group and then clasps her hands together.] Would it be too much to ask if we could catch it alive? Please?

Our first priority is making sure it does no damage to Nueva Las Noches. Ideally, we should try to avoid damage to our neighbours' homes as well.

[Their neighbours were tolerant and weren't annoying. She'd rather not get new neighbours because they weren't careful about defeating...whatever this thing is. She glances around at the assembled Espada. No one's pleased about being here.]

That was why I wanted all of us here. There is too much potential for property damage with a creature that large. It could easily crush a house.

[She glances in Washu's direction.]

We can try to catch it alive.

[She has to wonder at Szayel's comment to Luppi, but doesn't address it for the moment. Perhaps it was a sarcastic reference to Luppi's books.]

[Szayel let out a bored sigh, slinging off the machine he was carrying, setting it down by Washu.]

I can generate a field that will at least protect the house, and perhaps out immediate neighbors, but this is a prototype. There is a chance it may not work or blow up in our faces.

[And he really doesn't sound all that concerned by this. Is he telling the truth? Is he just pulling their legs? Who the hell knows.]

[Very funny, Szayel.]

Only you can shut me up? Are you talking about the time I drugged you and you let me shove your cock down my throat?

[Luppi lets the science people do their thing.]

[Ulquiorra quirks a brow at Washu's request, and though he does not question Neliel for indulging the girl, he is skeptical. The Cuarta, however, is spared from pondering this point further, because thank you, Luppi, there is not enough bleach in the world to scour that image from mind. He takes a few casual steps closer to Luppi. It's casual enough to be unthreatening, but the stare Luppi is getting is serpentine, and icy.]

That is enough, Luppi Anterior.

[But Szayel is not exempt either.]

The field had better work. For your sake, Octava.

[Correction. Luppi will let the science people do their thing while he sulks.]

[Szayel may have let one of the sharp rods he was connecting to the machine "accidentally" fall toward Luppi's leg in a manner that would have ripped apart a human limb.]

Oops.

[He doesn't sound at all sorry for it either.]

[Szayel pulled the rod back just as quickly, assembling the unit while addressing Ulquiorra.]

The likelihood of it failing is slim at best. I'm more concerned about the range. As loathe as I am to say it, I believe I will need your assistance in assuring it will be as effective as we need it to be, Washu.

Aww Szayel. You really didn't have to ask. [Yes, she's preening.] I was gonna do it anyway.

[She poises her fingers over the keyboard.] Just get it up there. Once it's stable, I'll boost the power to max and keep it steady.

The rest of you can get out there and show that thing who's boss, mmkay?

All right. Ulquiorra and Luppi, we will surround the red creature. Between the three of us, we should be able to prevent it from landing in places it shouldn't.

[She glances out of the corner of her eye and notices Gohan up and about. She intended on letting him sleep, but if he's out and determined to help, she knows he's powerful and durable enough that he shouldn't be at too much risk as long as he stays away from the monster.]

...and Gohan will be in charge of preventing the depletion of the local livestock.

[The "dropped" rod slices through his skin. It's not enough to cause serious damage, but blood wells up from the surface cut. After already being warned by Ulquiorra to stay quiet, he keeps his mouth shut and hopes that the death glare will be enough for Szayel to understand how much he "appreciated" it.]

How am I supposed to fight after what Szayel did to my leg?

[Pretending weakness could backfire on him when he's admitting it to the stronger Espada, but he gets to blame Szayel and might get to go back inside.]

He ain't on the front lines, but come at him, residents of Nueva Las Noches!

[He doesn't get a call, and is actually still asleep while this all starts. What wakes him up is some combination of sound that goes like "moo-splat-thud". Which is pretty odd, so he has to get up and investigate. He rubs his eyes sleepily, and gets out of bed to look out the window.

[Yeah, he doesn't need to rub at his eyes to wake up, now. Why are cows flying through the air? Though they don't seem to be so much flying as getting thrown around. But by what? He can't really see anything.

[Oh. Wait. There's something -- nope, it's hazing out on him again. He blinks, trying to bring it back into focus, but that doesn't seem to help much. Everything else is clear; it's just this one . . . creature that he's having problems seeing.

[Oops, there's another cow flying toward the wall. Well, he's not letting any more of them get hurt. He opens the window and jumps out into the sky, catching the cow in an easy grip.

[He takes a moment to float down to the ground and set the animal down, giving the poor startled thing a soothing pat.] You're safe now; don't worry. But you might wanna stay put until this gets taken care of, okay?

[And he's back up in the air, ready to catch any more animals flung his way. All the other residents seem to be focused on whatever that creature is supposed to be. Maybe they can all see it better than he can. Just as well. They'll be more than capable of handling it. He'll just take care of the back line.]

[ A pig bites the dust! ]

[Nope, a flying pig gets caught in midair! Again with a soothing pat once he sets it down next to the cow and hops back into the air. He's got this, still.]

[One sonido is all she needs to appear by Gohan's side for a moment.]

Ulquiorra, Luppi and I are going to fight the monster. Washu and Szayel are setting up a field that will protect our home and our neighbours.

[She offers a small smile.]

You can keep protecting the farm animals.

[He's not even surprised when Miss Nelliel appears by his side. He's accustomed to sonido and high-speed movement in general. Had he been in Super form, his eyes would even have been quick enough to see the movement.

[He just nods at her instructions.] Right. So all of you can see it clearly? It's pretty hazy for me, anyway.

[ ALL OF A SUDDEN:

A pig, a cow, a flock of turkeys, a bull, three goats, fifteen chickens and a llama come FLYING!!! ]

We can...ah, it must be something to do with spiritual sense.

[Before she can say more or think any further on the topic, a barrage of farm animals comes at them. Looks like she'll have to help Gohan a little with all of those, then. He'll be sad if more of them die than can be avoided.

In rapid bursts of speed, she nabs some of the animals, setting them down on the ground. She doesn't bother reassuring them as Gohan had, instead focusing on catching as many of them as she can.]

[He appreciates the help; it makes this a little easier. Still, a boost seems to be in order. He flares his ki, the sky flashing golden for a second at his transformation to Super form -- formerly dark hair and eyes turning blond and teal respectively. The sudden, drastic increase in the strength of his aura won't be lost on anyone here.

[But who's even thinking about that?

[He zips around at a pace that makes his old one look sluggish, catching any and all animals that Miss Nelliel can't get to. No more messy splatters, here.]
