Who: Kevin and Frau
When: Today!
Where: At the house, and then... all over the city.
Summary: Mimsy is terrified of Tolly. Tolly decides to prove his superiority to the dumb dog. Who isn't so dumb.
Warnings: Swearing about stupid animals.
Kevin was going to grill outside, meaning that Mimsy was off the leash. He glanced over his shoulder.
Then he turned over one of the steaks that he was making and made sure the corn wasn't going to burn.
When he heard a yelp, Kevin whipped around in time to see Mimsy tear out of the yard, Tolly hot on her heels. "MIMSY!"Kevin dropped the spatula.
"FRAU! TOLLY'S AFTER MIMSY!"
No matter how hilarious he found Tolly's bullying of Mimsy, he didn't want Mimsy running loose on the island. "Dammit!" He booked after his dog.

"They're fi-"
He'd turned around just in time to see both of them take off down the street. That wasn't good. With the whole island at their disposal, the two animals could end up just about anywhere and wind up in quite a bit of trouble.
"Shit. Tolly!"
no subject
"DAMMIT!" He watched Mimsy slip between two buildings, Tolly hot on her tail. Kevin bumped into a wall and ran after them. He bit off another curse, seeing the pair of them slip through a fence. It'd been a while since he'd jumped fences. He'd only done it once, and he'd gotten caught!
Kevin climbed the fence and jumped down on the other side, chasing the two animals.

"Oi! Tolly, knock it off!"
Tolly glanced back for a brief moment before she started herding Mimsy toward a crowded street. It would slow down both of their people rather quickly.

Kevin ground his teeth together and chased after his dog. The wall of people made him hesitate. Dammit. Too many people. The panic rose and then he saw Mimsy stop and take a lick of a kid's ice cream cone, Tolly licking a few drops off Mimsy's paw.
"MIMSY!"
DADDY WE RUN NOW!

Tolly spotted the suddenly airborne form of her master and panicked. With a yowl she bolted forward only to slam into a street vendor outside a little craft shop. Confetti and glitter flew everywhere, coating both animals. The sparkling light caught Tolly's attention for a moment and she paused to pounce on one before returning to the task at hand. Hopefully she wouldn't need to give Mimsy any incentive.

Mimsy stopped, looking back at where her friend had stopped. She cocked her head to the side and then saw Tolly running at her again. Mimsy barked happily and took off into the crowd. She jumped over another dog. then she stopped, staring at a dog that was in a purse. IT WAS MAGIC. HOW MASTER?
... Oh. Running. She tore off again, Tolly at her side, rather than behind her.

And they didn't really have time for that. Frau tried to keep an eye on their pets from the air, but it wasn't as easy as he'd originally thought. The two had a talent of winding there way through a crowd and darting all over the place. Not that Frau figured he'd have any better luck spotting them from the ground.
"Try to keep an eye on them. I might lose them."

Mimsy took off across the grass. She ducked under a bush and then around another. She wasn't quite as small as her feline companion. Together again, Mimsy followed Tolly across the street, dodging around other pedestrians.
Kevin was going to have a heart attack. Mimsy was trying to kill him.

"Dammit, Tolly!"
This was turning into a full wild goose chance. Frau was pretty sure by this point that Tolly was simply running to be a pest, and Mimsy was following along for the fun of it. Hopefully they wouldn't wind up in too much trouble or in an area they really shouldn't be.

Mimsy heard the call, but she smelled something. IT SMELLED GOOD! PAL! WE GO THIS WAY!
She twisted and ran under another fence. Then, a rabbit broke cover and Mimsy gave a happy bark and tore after it straight into the bushes.

Frau vaulted over the fence and continued forward. Now that they were out of the more city like area, it should be easier to chance the animals down. Of course it could also be just as easy to lose track of them. There was less to hid behind, but there was more directions for them to go in.
"Pain in the ass... I'm going to kill her when I get my hands on her."

... He'd left life as an X-Man behind dammit!
"Ya ain't the only -" The rest was cut off in a weak squelch. Kevin's foot slipped in something and dooooooooown he went. When he got up, he smelled like roses... well, roses in the spring, anyway. "I hate m'dog." He growled, pulling off a glove and beginning to dissolve the... organic material (better than thinking of it as manure) off his clothing. Unfortunately, part of his shirt went with it, since they were the one thing he could never find synthetics of.

"Doing real well, aren't you."
So they were in the middle of chasing two animals all over the freaking place and it wasn't going well. That didn't mean that Frau couldn't tease.

Mimsy stared at the hole. THE HOPPY THING! IT WENT DOWN THERE PAL!
... Tolly wasn't impressed and just trotted off into the field.
Mimsy whined at the hole and then trotted after Tolly. Now she was lost, and there was no Daddy and no not!Daddy. Tolly would take her home. Of course.
no subject
"Probably is."
Yes, Frau was a little bit proud of that, though he didn't like needing to chase after his cat. In all reality, if it had just been Tolly he would have let her go. She would have come traipsing back on her own later. If Kevin was running though, Frau would follow.
Tolly swished her tail in irritation as she paused for Mimsy to catch up. As much as the little dog annoyed her, she wasn't just going to leave Mimsy to her own devices. Of course she would never show the stupid dog that she actually cared.

Mimsy trotted along with Tolly, smelling Everything. There were smells! Everywhere! And things! What were the things! She didn't know but they smelled! And...
What were the noisy short bird things? They pecked at the yard. Mimsy went to find out! AND THEN THEY CLUCKED AND RAN AWAY! YAY! CHASING!

Frau just grinned at Kevin. He was proud of Tolly. She could stand up for herself which was a good thing even if she was a hassle sometimes.
"Through the grass I think. Probably still straight forward."
When he caught a glimpse of unsettled chickens in the distance he had a feeling he knew exactly where the two animals had gone. He pointed it out to Kevin.
"That way."

He sighed and trotted off in that direction.
Mimsy couldn't catch the squawky things. She sat and panted in the yard, staring at the chickens that fluttered to a rest not that far away. Her tail thumped in the dirt for a moment. She heard something and turned to look.
It was another not!Daddy! She barked and got to her feet. Except, this one threw rocks. She cocked her head to the side when one of the rocks scuffed up the dirt at her feet. She didn't understand. Another rock grazed her ear and she yelped, shying away. A whimper from the back of her throat only got another rock pitched at her. This one hit her in the shoulder. That was when she took off. She ducked under a few bushes, and stopped to pant and wait for Tolly.

Most of the animals here had worse counterparts in Frau's world. These ones didn't seem all that dangerous to him.
Tolly skidded to a stop when she heard Mimsy's yelp. It took her a moment to figure out what had caused it, but when she spotted the farmer throwing rocks it all made sense. Her ears flattened a bit and her fur stood up on end. There was no way in hell she was going to let this person get away with that. With a hiss, Tolly charged him.

When Tolly didn't join her right away, Mimsy stuck her head out. She saw Tolly charging the not!Daddy and ran after the cat. Mimsy caught up to Tolly and bowled her over, getting a claw to the snout and a rock to the side. She reared back from Tolly, protecting the smaller cat with her body.
Mimsy stared at the person, set her feet and growled. Her hackles rose and she was prepared to defend Tolly. Even if the scratch on her nose was seeping blood. NO ONE hurt her friend!

While Frau couldn't see the stand off the animals were putting on, he had noticed the other person in the field. He had a feeling the guy wouldn't appreciate pets running wild out here, and Frau picked up the pace.
"Come on."
