Sherri eased from one branch to another. The branch didn't even bend under her weight. That was definitely human breathing she could hear.

She spotted light skin and dark hair through the trees. Someone had found a boulder to hide behind. Well, that was just too bad. Because their hiding put them right in her line of sight.

The rifle glided off her shoulder and into her hands. The round was already chambered. She eased the rifle into her shoulder and sighted down the barrel.
