And Jake knew that now! Okay, well Jake was at least aware of the depth of the auto responder's capacity to feel, but it didn't mean that he'd really registered the emotional damage he might have done to that poor pair of shades. If he did, he might still feel mildly justified in picking fights with him, considering the responder had a nasty habit of trying to tick Jake off, but he might (and does) feel a little awkward about all the times he flat out told the AR that he wasn't even a real person.

Jake had felt pretty real.

Having a drastic, opinion changing experience didn't mean he didn't want some payback for someone messing with him like that, however.
