[it's quite the domestic scene, Sam in the kitchen turning steaks on a griddle and Gizmo at his feet (hoping for a fallen scrap). Plates and glasses are already set out on their small table, as is a bowl of ceasar salad and some honey-glazed biscuits.

The salad is healthy at least.]

Don't know what time he'll be here. Should be soon I guess. [he glances over his shoulder at Edgeworth, grinning cheekily] You decided which Star Wars movie we're gonna watch tonight?

[There's the smell of popcorn; a rather large tub of it will be waiting for them in the other room by the couch.]

Well, I'm sold. Even if my species isn't included in this portrayal, you racists. [Teasing, teasing.]

[ergomaniac]

[The embarrassment in his face deepens.]

"Racists"?

[shifting]

He's pokin' fun. Aren't you? [such a schoolteacher look he's setting on you, Lucifer.

He smells the popcorn, too] Anyway, that your sign you're done with dinner? [he knows you aren't the most patient angel in the world...]

Of course I am. [He's trying to lighten the mood. Edgeworth's sense of humor is just...rusty.] But I do want to see it, Miles-- Edgeworth.

I just want you to remember there's snacks. It would've been rude not to bring something, right?

[ergomaniac]

[Edgeworth harumphs, but then looks up at Sam.]

...Thank you for dinner, Sam. I can tell how hard you worked, and it was delicious.

[shifting]

Sure. You're welcome.

And I'm fine with movin' this into the living room whenever you both are. [treading careful waters here]

[thelightbringer]

[Lucifer opens his mouth to offer to help set up- But no, Edgeworth would probably object.]

Thank you, Sam.

[ergomaniac]

[Edgeworth nods and stands and reaches for the plates. He could use his powers to tidy the dishes up at once, without any trouble, but he won't. Indeed, the very idea is repugnant. He'll just use his hands.]

I'll clean up in here. Sam, can you get the movie...?

[shifting]

Sure thing. [but he's also collecting their wine glasses without prompting, making sure that they escape the clean-up and are carried safely into the living room.

Priorities.]

[With nothing else to do, Lucifer heads into the living room and sprawls on the couch. He takes the glasses from Sam, so he can sit without risk of spilling any.]

Jujyfruit?

EUGH I'm terrible, y'all, but I'd like to continue if you would...

[ergomaniac]

[Edgeworth glances after those glasses, but stands up and starts cleaning. He starts to move, and is surprised by how suddenly the wine hits him...He feels disoriented and a bit dizzy, but far more relaxed. He's relaxed enough, in fact, that he only cleans what needs cleaning immediately and resolves to simply soak the others.]
