Plot! Raul either shakes your hand, or you get stuck. Literally.
Who: Raul Creed (
rapturescreed) and YOU!
When: Sunday, September 9th, all day.
Where: Throughout the city, specifically sectors 2, 3, 4, and 6. Also Lion's Gate, the Starter Apartments, and the Newcomer Community Center.
Summary: Someone gave Raul hallucinations, and now he's messing up everyone else's day, too.
Warnings: People being stuck in one place, crazy thinking on Raul's part. Foul language and talk of sexual things.
[It had started out like any normal day. Raul woke up, said goodbye to the girls, and went in to work. He had plans for today; he was going to go into Lion's Gate and work from there, and then possibly go to work at his office in the Newcomer Community Center afterwards. Something that he did almost every day, and even though it was a Sunday, there was nothing different. There were more Newcomers coming into the city everyday, and the Community Center, unlike the Clinic, stayed open everyday. It needed to, with everything that was being done in the community.
What Raul didn't expect when he went into his office at Lion's Gate was Re-l Mayer sitting on his desk. The quick flash of annoyance he felt at the idea that the secretary had let someone into his office without him present was quickly gone as soon as he saw who it was. Maybe today was going to get a little bit more interesting, and he took his coat off, hanging it in the corner before sitting down in the chair behind the desk. Small talk was easily done, and Raul was very glad to have this happen today, this early. What a good way to start off the day, right?
That was, until his hand went right through Re-l's chest, and she started to flicker around the edges, and holy shit what was in his coffee this morning? Stumbling back, Re-l was gone, and Raul's hands found the wall behind him. But maybe even that wasn't real. How could he be sure now what was real and what wasn't real? The wall was real. He could feel it under his fingers, and maybe that was good enough. Sliding against the wall, he put a hand out to his chair, grabbing onto that; only then did he move away from the wall, holding onto the chair. As long as he touched something real, he was okay.
This world was real. Maybe. He needed a plan, something to help him know this was real. Going back to the wall, he slide along it till he got to the door. Opening it, he saw his secretary outside at her desk, and he continued to slide along the wall until he got there. She was a little concerned. Very concerned, actually, and he held his hand out.]
Shake my hand. [He said, and after she hesitated, he said it again insistently, until she shook it. That was real, and he continued to slide against the wall out into the club. A maintenance man was working, and Raul asked him to shake his hand as well. Maybe he didn't hear him, but he ignored the hand, walking past with his cart of cleaning supplies.]
Don't go anywhere until you shake my hand. [Raul said angrily, and he turned to leave before giving the man a chance. He wasn't there to notice the fact that the guy couldn't move anywhere, once he was gone.
This is how he continued through the club; if someone shook his hand, then he moved on. If they didn't, then he told them to stay where they were until they shook his hand, and then he moved on as well. His Core-given ability seemed to be working; he rarely used it, had even forgotten about it. So he walked out of the club, and began to roam the sectors. He'd make his way to the apartments, and the Community Center; maybe someone there could help him figure out what was real and what wasn't.]
ooc: So, if your character runs across Raul, or if he runs across your character, he's going to ask them to shake his hand. If they do, then they move along normally. But if they don't, they're stuck in one place for a few hours. All information about this plot can be found HERE. Just put in the header what sector they're in, or what building, and what time of the day it takes place. Remember, no one will be caught outside after sirens, and no one can help move the person. They cannot move from their spot.
Have fun!

...You... should wash your hands. [Because he will be. And he can smell the yogurt, and felt her hand against his, and he knew. He knew this was real.]
...Thank you for doing this. Here, let me help. [He undoes his cravat, holding it out for her to wipe her hands on.]

Are you alright, Mr. Creed?

I... there was... a person, in my office. Who was not real. I believe. I am unsure as of this moment if she was real or not real.

Is that why you needed me to shake your hand? To figure if I was real?

These walls are real. I can feel them. They're real.

No. I could wake up without not really waking up. The chair could have me fall right through it. No. No.
