But you can't change the world
Who: Obito and YOU
When: Backdated to the early afternoon of Sept. 12
Where: Around Sector 4
Summary: Obito found out what happened to his clan and is off to mope around town.
Warnings: Angst
Obito hadn't slept a wink since his cousin from the future had arrived. How could he after being told his clan would get slaughtered? He'd tried, of course, but his mind just kept going in circles. He still couldn't believe that the Hokage would order for his clan to be killed nor that Itachi would do it out of his own accord. Sure, people changed when they grew up, but kind little Itachi couldn't have grown up to be some psychotic killer. But then again, why would the Hokage do something so cruel? On and on it went, questions that couldn't be answered in this place. Eventually he'd had enough and left his apartment.
He needed distractions, so that's what he sought out. For a little while he pretended he was back in Konoha and he'd do what he always did when he was among the villagers; help those who needed help, whatever kind of help that may be. Only helping the old lady cross the road wasn't making him feel better. He just felt more and more homesick. He'd even bought himself some lollipops, but then couldn't bring himself to eat them. Nothing was making the helpless, hollow feeling in his chest go away.
Eventually he just gave up and found a bench to sit on, unconsciously making himself as small as possible by drawing his legs up and resting his arms on his knees before burying his face in them. A lollipop was forlornly being twirled between his fingers as he resisted the urge to cry again. He just wanted to be home again.

"Thoughts like that can go a long way in helping you become stronger. To keep something like that from happening to the Newcomers here." That's as good of an inspiring speech as Ino can manage; hopefully Obito enjoyed it as much as she did. She said really smart things sometimes.

"Do you really think I could do that?"

"You're from Konoha, aren't you?"
no subject
"That's right."

"I should be getting back to my apartment now." She paused. "Would you like to come over for dinner?"
no subject
"Sure, I'd love to." It definitely beat going back to his apartment and eating dinner alone too.
