she had the body of a Venus, Lord imagine my surprise...

Who: Prue and Chris Halliwell, the entire city (NPC)
When: Monday at midnight
Where: Prue's apartment
Summary: Prue accidentally a rule 63.
Warnings: Language, shenanigans, mention of Prue's gross eye injury.

[It's been a very, very long week for Prue. Coming back to Siren's Port after what felt like a year to her, after what was really a day, and coming back to a hospital trip haven't exactly been her idea of fun. The doctors couldn't give her full access to a healer without charging her through the nose for it, especially when she let slip that Chris could supposedly heal, so she's been here. Stuck at home. That "supposedly" has turned out to be a key word- Chris doesn't know how to use his alleged healing ability yet. So she's been blind. On sick leave. Incredibly grateful for her seeing-eye nephew, of course, but going slowly crazy.

Which is where magic comes in. A few days of Chris kindly reading from the Book of Shadows go by, and he's pretty nice about it, but she goes nuts and they cast a spell on a crystal to basically be a screenreader for her. She's spent days now sitting in her chair, reading the Book and playing with rhymes to put makeshift spells together. Little things, usually with Chris around.

But Chris is gone tonight. Off to God knows where, and Prue asked like the big sister she is, but it isn't her business to be his babysitter, not when he can sense her if she's in trouble, and she has always loved quiet evenings alone with a book just to herself. Her latest project is a glamouring spell to change a person's appearance- the one in the Book is very limited, so Prue has spent two days fiddling with it to give it some real staying power past a few hours.

A few cross-outs and word substitutions make it what she thinks is perfect: it's strong, it's well-worded, it borrows from some of the spells Xellos gave her, it even mentions the Core, for that little seal of consistency. Actually casting it turns out to be a little anticlimactic: she runs the crystal over the paper to give her the words, and says them out loud with a few candles lit, as a trial run.

Nothing. No weird feelings, no lights, no pretty sound. Nothing but an unhappy feline growl from Kit in the other room. Prue curses softly under her breath, crumples the paper, and throws it at random (into the blur that is her living room).]

[Chris makes a disgusted and annoyed face at her.]

Yeah, well, you better. People are going to notice if I'm stuck like this too long.

Yes, but I've never really cared to use that often and it's not working anyway.
