There were two occasions Claire was shopping for on this afternoon: her adventure with Loki and a few upcoming promotional events that, as a part of the AGI cheerleading squad (no matter how small her role), she was encouraged to attend. Not that she ever mingled too much with the locals at the events she'd already been to.

She had two shopping bags hanging off her forearm as she entered a store that seemed promising. Her paycheck had been cashed in her account and she was ready to add to her wardrobe. Clearance items weren't always terrible, nevermind the people that seemed to think so. Being up with all the trends was on the bottom of Claire's priority list. Maybe a splurge here and there would be okay, though; a girl could always use a nice pair of shoes.

She moved slowly through the store, taking time to look at the different heels before moving onto the clothing section.

Kitty may have come to the mall but she didn't actually have any plans of buying anything - she hadn't actually looked for a job yet so she didn't have any money to buy anything. It didn't stop her wanting to look around though, sometimes it was just nice doing so (and it was definitely nice to be out and around places rather than in the house all day). Besides, the focus of 'being a girl' hadn't exactly been a priority of hers for the past few years, not that she'd ever been too bothered about what was 'fashionable' even before that. And here? She still didn't care.

It didn't hurt to look, and maybe mentally judge if she thought something looked stupid, though. It passed time and could be fun. So now? Now she was going to the shoes, just to see how painful and stupid things got here.

Claire was a little careless, adjusting her weight onto her left leg and examining a shoe, unaware of the girl standing beside her. She turned and walked into her, heel still in her hands, but she managed to keep from knocking anything on the displays over.

"Oh- sorry! Are you okay?"

Kitty didn't see Claire coming, too busy with browsing herself so the other girl was lucky that Kitty wasn't startled enough that she phased - at least the girl didn't fall through her with it.

"I'm okay." Kitty looked up, giving her a smile to emphasise it. "It's kind of crowded here." The isles were pretty smile which didn't help.

"Yeah." Claire returned to go back to shopping, but- it wasn't often she ran into another Newcomer out on the streets. Or, she thought this girl was. "Hey, have I ... seen you over the network before?"

"Uhm, it's possible." Kitty couldn't remember speaking to her but she'd definitely used the network. "I've posted on it a few times but nothing ever really that interesting." Just silly things.

"Claire Bennet." She adjusted the items in her arms to extend a hand. She was trying to get more contacts her own age, especially when a majority of the newcomers were either older or younger than her.

"Kitty Pryde." She gave her a smile, shaking that hand. "Have you ben here long? The Port, not the mall."

"You could say that. I've been here since November." It felt much longer. Like years, almost, with all that had happened.

"You?"

"January." Which was probably why they haven't really run into each other yet. "I guess I'll keep a better eye on the network next time."

Claire smiled. "Don't worry about it, it's easy to miss people on the network. Especially when you first arrive."

"Definitely. Figuring all of this out? Well I definitely haven't done that still." And she hadn't done a bunch of the stuff that she'd wanted to do either.

"I don't think anyone has, really." Or so the general consensus was.

"Figuring a little bit out then, like what to do." She wasn't having much luck on any of that.

"At least I know where this place is for when I actually get money for the stuff in it." Sob need a job.
