Who: Chuck Shurley and YOU.
When: Friday-Sunday of the event
Where: all over the place! (and Purgatory)
Summary: Rule 63 is fun.
Warnings: TBD.
[Chuck is having a weird week- as is the rest of the city. After spending the first half of the week going through various and sundry traumatizing experiences, he- she decides to get out into the world and spend the weekend basically being irresponsible. Except at night, when she's in Purgatory, doing her new managerial duties and busily drinking on the job.
Friday is for lurking around various bars and restaurants, engaging in some healthy day drinking and wasting money on arcade games. She's pretty convinced that she's awesome at air hockey when she's drunk. Which is a lie.
On Saturday, she spends a lot of the day roaming around the Underground Mall vicinity aimlessly and eating weird bacon-based foods. She might also be sitting in a city square on the edge of a huge fountain, tongue sticking out in concentration as she busily paints what appears to be a... giant invisible dog.
Sunday has her in a park somewhere, playing an expensive-looking acoustic guitar- mostly Simon & Garfunkle, the Beatles, whatever she can remember without too many mistakes. Which isn't always successful. She's singing softly, too, trying to get used to her new, very unfamiliar voice.]

Our guardian angel. Lucky us.

It is really. Loud and bright and beautiful in the sky, but we likely wouldn't exist, even as a planet, without it. People watch it, see it, but never realize how important, how valuable, it is.
no subject
Loud and bright, huh?
no subject
Yes. Not in a bad way - it's like hearing music - but yes it's very bright. When the orbits line up, it competes with the Sun.
no subject
After a few moments of quiet, she pipes up-]
What's the coolest thing you can do with that power, anyway? Other than the- getting off thing.
[Guess what's on her mind.]

I don't know? Opening wormholes is pretty neat. Or being able to fly into space. I can feel earthquakes and tides, anywhere on the planet. Nuclear almost anything too - anything larger than a hospital's footprint, and even those I could find. I can hear storms on the Sun too, and feel radioactive decay. Metal veins in the Earth, or it's heartbeat inside the planet's Core. There was one time, I was out in Genosha's ocean, and watch dolphins swim, and I could see the unborn ones flipping their tails in practice in utero. I take someone whose dying and make their heart continue to beat, their lungs breathe. Or some who is in chronic pain and turn off what's hurting them.
no subject
Yeah?

[It's soft. He's comfortable in his powers, but still a little in awe of what he can see and hear, sense and do. Lorna's not as powerful as he is, he doesn't know if she ever will be, but for now, he's something utterly unique, and it really is a type of seeing the world with newborn eyes - literally, in terms of color, for even two year olds have some UV damage to their eyes and can't see the range of color he can.]
It's like, if there is an injury or something and it hurts, it hurts because the injury is still there and needs treated. And you need to feel that pain, it's the body's way of protecting us from hurting ourselves worse, but I can dial it down. Or there was an injury and there's not anymore, but the body is stuck in this loop of acting like it is. Sort of how you develop muscle memory for a set stairs, and then suddenly the last one isn't there, and you keep thinking it is? And I can reset that, fix it, so that loop isn't there anymore.

I wouldn't mind.

[He gestures at the system, and it moves with him, like he's blown gently on a pile of leaves.]
It takes muscle after a fashion, energy. I can get tried if I keep going too long or try to do too much.
no subject
You don't need to explain that part to me. Trust me, I've seen Gabriel wear himself out more than once.
no subject
[It keeps moving. It's an old system, complex, and just on that edge where everything is stable but the stars ages won't be able to hold that for more than another few million years.]
It's why I can drink as much as I can - my metabolism is pretty high. And why I could calculate drug doses for Castiel and Lucifer so easily.
[...wait...did Chuck know about that? Eh. He's too mellow to think about it.]
no subject
What about Lucifer? What?
no subject
[Back when he accidentally got Aslan killed.]
I would've tried my powers but I think he'd have eaten my arm at that point.
[So causally. Like the threat was just a normal part of life. Pet a shark, risk the loss of a limb.
He focused on the dual suns in the system, and they started to change color. Not because he was changing the metal but because he was changing the viable light spectrum around them. One glowed a warm soft yellow, while the other a dark red.]
no subject
That's awesome.
no subject
[It's not smug, it's happy, almost joyful, look, look at what I can do, excited. He nudges a little, a light blue here, a swirling gold there, a green so rich and bright it's beyond any jewel, and other colours appear, not on the system but around them, tiny bubbles of colour and light, like some expensive film trick done with mirrors and prisms, only these shift with the system.]
no subject
[Classy.]
no subject
You should see me with a full night's sky to play with.
[He doesn't notice, at all anymore, but he's growing just a bit warmer from this, a side effect of such a focused use of his powers.]
no subject
[It's much more vehement than she meant- but fucking hell, She misses the night. The moon, the stars. She knows all of their names.
The hoodie slips off her shoulder, snagging on a scratch in a way that can't possibly be a good thing.]
no subject
[He doesn't notice it for his own vehemence.]
I can't hear or see through the Darkness. The planet, sure, but the sky? It's not there.
[It freaks him out.]
no subject
[It just slips out. Me too, she could never be drunk enough to add.]
no subject
He focuses on a tiny nail, and it heats up white hot, burning through his simulated sky.]
I keep wondering it I could catch something floating up there and nudge it down, what would happen come Darkness, if I could still find it.
[But he doesn't know so he doesn't chance it.]
no subject
[She's thought about it. She still feels the walls around her, every second of every day. She watches the nail streak through that little sky, her hand closing protectively around the stolen Jupiter.]
