Summary: Tomorrow is Thanksgiving, and a neutral business is doing their part to make sure that people enjoy the most important part of the holiday: THE PIES. Come get a free pie.
Warnings: Warning for cavities. No really, brush your teeth after eating, kids.

This is Gilbert's third time witnessing this modern holiday in Siren's Port. It's a different sort of tradition than his own world's celebration of welcoming in the harvest with a large feast, but then, there's nothing in this world that mirrors his own when it comes to holiday and tradition. Still, he and Funtom are doing their part to promote charity and goodwill by offering a free pumpkin pie ('One per customer, please!' proclaims a sign on the counter with a childish sketch of a happy black rabbit sitting in a teacup.) to complete your meal tomorrow evening!

Come in and get your free pie, sit down and enjoy tea and pastries, or just come in to bother the baker as he moves from the kitchen to the front counter to help pass them out.

[He shakes his head.]

[She smiles.]

So, what have you been up to in the last few days? I've been kind of - preoccupied.

[retraced]

[Aside from the people in his house changing gender, nothing much, but he doesn't want to put it like that and put more pressure on her, so he thinks on it a second to try and come up with a better answer.]

Well...I started reading this book that Oz said was good?

[motioned]

[She leans forward, interested.]

What book?

[retraced]

It's called Eago's Treasure.

[Par made all of this up, don't judge me for it.]

It's about a philanthropist named Eago who is forced to fight against the strictures of society that claim that all pirates are evil. He works to bring peace to the seas before his death. Apparently there's a good twist ending...

[That his young master, tastefully, has not spoiled for him yet.]

Oh, it sounds interesting! Do you like it so far?

[retraced]

Ah...it's well written, but it's a different style than I'm used to reading.

[Because everything in Olden Times in fake-VictorianJapanEnglandFrance world would definitely flow a little differently.]

A different style? What do you mean?

[retraced]

Books are just written differently in this time.

[It's hard to explain when one doesn't have examples! Or even a canon name for the country that they live in uggggh.]

Yeah, I guess that's true. I'm glad you like it, though!

[retraced]

Do you want to borrow it when I'm done?

[motioned]

Oh, if it's okay with you and Oz, sure! I bet Fakir would like it more than I would, though.

He likes stories like that?

[motioned]

I'm pretty sure he likes all kinds of stories, as long as they're happy. I mean, he writes, so...

[retraced]

Ah, that's right. I think you said that before.

What does he write about?

[motioned]

Well, different things, just as long as they had good endings.

[retraced]

The books that Oz liked back home...they always had tragic endings.

[He shakes his head.]

But - he liked happy endings too. Maybe the two of them should read together more, I'm sure he'd like someone to discuss books with.

[motioned]

He liked stuff like that? Didn't it ever make him sad?

Oh, yeah! I think that'd be good for both of them.

[retraced]

Mm. Maybe.

[But the sadness that he gets reading a book is different than the sadness he feels for the world around him. Though he refrains from saying this, because for Ahiru, a lot of that is one and the same.]

Do you think Fakir would enjoy that at all?

[motioned]

Probably not, but he should do it anyways.

Oh? Why do you say that?

[motioned]

Like... He's not very social, but I think he should have friends and do stuff with people anyways!

[He smiles.]

Oz is the opposite type of personality...he's happy to speak to anyone.
