Who: Eponine and Marius
When: Early evening
Where: Newcomer Apartments
Summary: General friendship-y stuff. Marius passes on his clothing from when he was genderbent to Eponine, and they finally get to see each other without awkward gender things.
Warnings: Nothing.
Marius hadn't had company to his room before, not in the Port at least. And, considering that the place did look as though he'd been living in it for a week without really leaving much (which wasn't far from the truth, facing the world as a woman wasn't the easier thing for him), it was probably for the best that he at least tidied up. He and Eponine hadn't had a chance to really see each other yet, since he'd arrived, and it was high time that they did without one of them being the wrong gender.
Besides, Marius had a few things for her.
After being changed, he'd quickly bought clothing enough for his female body, and considering that body had been about the same size as Eponine (if a little more well-fed), Marius figured that it was probably best not to let them go to waste. She deserved that much and more, which was why he'd also placed a faux silver hairbrush and a few inexpensive pieces of jewelry on the bed with the dresses as well. He knew Eponine didn't want to be pitied, but there was no harm in buying a few gifts for a friend, right? If she asked, he'd just say that he'd bought them with the dresses.
The dresses were actually quite fine, especially considering that he hadn't had much in the way of money yet. Marius had been hard pressed to find anything that was decent, but had managed to come up with around five Victorian-style gowns. Not his era, perhaps, but close enough to keep him decently covered. Not knowing how long he'd be like this, he'd also managed to find a cloak, just in case. Marius wasn't one for planning ahead usually, but in a circumstance like this...well. It was probably best to.
And now, after cleaning up and sending Eponine a message to come and visit him, all there was left to do was wait.

She Smiles at his question, and pushes past him, back into the lounge.
"A lady named Hattie made it for me."

He waits for her to sit first, and then takes a seat himself, mentally cursing himself for not having at least prepared tea or something of that sort of offer her. Marius didn't entertain often, and he often simply forgot the protocol.

"I... I suppose she is."
She all but collapses into the chair, tired out. She yawns loudly, and grins.
"So how are you getting on, M'sieur? You like it here?"
no subject
"It is...very different." From both Londonium and Paris. "I cannot say that it is bad, though. Looking for work will not be difficult, I hope."

Eponine sits up at once in concern. "M'sieur, how are you living? Do you have food? A place to stay? You will be told to get out of here soon."
Her hand strays immediately to the small coin bag at her waist. Some of her saving are in there - she was going to buy a takeaway when she was leaving Afterglow for her and Deadpool to share. But if Marius needs money, he will certainly have it.
"What is it you want to do? I will find work for you."

He's close enough to rest a hand on hers and gently push it away from her bag. "You do not need to worry for me. I will be fine, I promise."
"I was looking for work before...that happened. You do not need to look for anything for you, you have enough to worry about with your own work." Marius is firm, but gentle. She doesn't need to coddle him, he's done this before. "They are in need of a book-keeper here, I was thinking of looking to apply, so that I might have a permanent place to stay."
no subject
"M'sieur - I do not want you to want. That is all. But if you have work, then that is okay."
She yawns again. She's so knackered, but what can she do? Perhaps she'll pull a sickie and just SLEEP. Would Hattie buy it? M'sieur Gold might...
"It is nice here. And you see everyone that arrives."
no subject
Marius looks a little concerned now. Is she truly that tired? "Yes...it is very interesting. I have never seen so many people from everywhere one can imagine." Even in Londonium, most of the average people were locals. The Port seems to be populated with people like him and Eponine.

He chuckles. "If I did, I would not be living in an apartment, would I?" Apart from being turned female, Marius has yet to see magic in action. "Perhaps I would simply make a house appear out of thin air."
no subject
She sighs. "Perhaps this is how 'my lady' got her house. Trickery and magic. It is easier than working, I think."
no subject
Well, whomever it was seems to be treating her well enough if they're letting her have a bath. Perhaps she's gotten work as a maid?
no subject
Paid work as a maid would be nice. Oh well. Nothing she can do, or she'll be thrown into jail.
