Who: Prue and Phoebe Halliwell
When: Monday around 4:30
Where: Prue's apartment
Summary: Prue's been acting weird and it's time for a sistervention :|
Warnings: none yet!
[At some point, Prue does have to leave the docks and go back home from her thrilling day of playing hooky- aka leaving work early. She knows she's getting home two hours earlier than normal, but screw it. Today can go jump off a building if it has something to say. She'll go home (not to Phoebe's Newcomer apartment or Chris' place) and make too much coffee and do work on her own, where nobody is there to notice that she hasn't used her powers since the gender-swap, and that she's been acting weird today, or anything else.
Of course, the flaw in Prue's brilliant hermit plan is that Phoebe was hanging around this morning, when she got up for work, and Prue has just plain forgotten that little sis will probably still be there when she gets home. So when she does get home, shockingly early (for a work day), she thinks nothing of it, immediately kicking off her shoes and slinging her photography bag any old place.]

It's nothing. Can't I come home early without getting the third degree?
[If Prue was in a better frame of mind she'd realize as she says it that that line is itself a giveaway- coming home early. Prue never comes home early. Not from the museum, not from Buckland's and especially not now. As she explained to Phoebe when she first got here- she has her dream job now, the one she's been dreaming of since she was in high school. She's finally a photographer. As if she'd ever jeopardize that job by something as irresponsible as coming home early. Not with how she's been since Phoebe got here, working long hours and working too hard, often working after sirens and having to call Chris to orb her home. Phoebe has seen it- so this? This is unusual. Prue doesn't come home early.]

No. Prue. You never come home early.
[She tries a gentler tone]
Tell me what's happened?

Nothing. Nothing! I just got out early and went down to the docks to think.
[To think. Prue can lie to this Phoebe because she doesn't know yet about Prue's habit of going to the lake where Mom died- but she does know about Prue's fear of water. Maybe thinking Prue conquered it will get her through this conversation.]
There isn't a lot going on right now, with the SERO security crack-downs happening all over the place, so I got to come home early to develop some film from the last photo shoo.
[It's almost convincing.]

[She moves into the doorway and angles her body in such a way that she effectively blocks Prue's escape route. Her expression has become serious, business like. She might not know WHY Prue fears the water so much. But she saw Prue dealing with Barbas last year. Phoebe knows that her big sis doesn't like water.]
Why are you lying to me? What don't you want me to know?
no subject
I'm not lying to you. I'm not even really hiding anything.
[She pivots on her heel to face Phoebe, eyes tired and wan.]
You're right, something is bothering me, but I'm fine. I'm always fine.
