One Night Only
Who: OPEN TO EVERYONE because of Julian
When: October 30th, 2012
Where: The Xino E. Mao Corp building
Summary: MASQUERAAADE: A costume party of the swanky kind! Yay!
Warnings: None...?
Notes: Forward-dating so there's more time to tag in. Action and prose are both okay! ALSO: tag yourself in on the log!
= = = = =
Halloween doesn't just belong to the young and young-at-heart. Candy isn't hard to come by. So why not spend some time partying it up?
Thanks to a mistake and Network spam sent via Julian, Xino E. Mao has been dressed up for precisely that line of thinking. Thanks to Xigbar's quick fixes (i.e. connections and a few spells for the occasion), the rooms reserved for special events have been opened up for the masquerade. Yes, masquerade. All are expected to dress in costumes that aren't corny.
The lighting is dim, overlaying fitting decorations which fulfill the eerie ambiance necessary for such a Hallowed Night. These are far from cheesy store-bought decorations, of course. It's stylish and...alive. Why yes, those are Heartless Shadows creeping along the walls.
Don't get too caught up staring at the details – the details will stare back at you.
To all who enter here: enjoy.

Sparkly? I dunno about that... but vodka's always a safe bet, right?
[She grins more openly. He IS cute.]
I'm Phoebe.
no subject
Beautiful name for such a spunky lady, I like it. I'm Jack.
[aaaand if she'll allow him he'd just be...taking her hand and kissing her knuckles, yep.]
no subject
And a true gentleman, I see. Bottoms up?
[She means the shot. It's already raised to her lips and she's ready to down it.]
no subject
[He grins, cheekily, downing the shot in one breath as she does. He makes a face afterwards.]
Oh, that burned going down, goodness.
no subject
Have you never had vodka before or something? Maybe you'd be better off with wine?
no subject
You seem like you're used to it?
no subject
no subject
[he grins.] That sounds lovely, what about you? Settled into the Port yet?
no subject
[Hey cool. She's never met one of those before.]
Me? Nah... I don't have a job. My sister's here though - not the one who's a chef. Prue.
[Does Phoebe look happy about that? It's debatable - she and Prue have a prickly relationship] I think I'm gonna be needing a job, though. They'll be kicking me out of that starter flat soon.
no subject
[he's leaving out the part that he'd practically become a legend among noblemen....]
Perhaps I could help point you somewhere? What did you work as, back home?
no subject
Jobs? [She laughs] Oh you know? Bit of this, bit of that. I've done - let's see. Well, I was Prue's assistant. Estate agent secretary, a psychic in a hotel... you know.
[Okay, she has no qualifications for anything, and not a great deal of dedication to her jobs. Chuck in demons attacking and her visions going awry and it makes for holding a long term job hard work.]
no subject
A psychic? The sort that reads minds? Or the sort that sees through time?
no subject
[And it doesn't matter telling people here because most people have powers, right?]
'Course, it changes all the time. I mean - if my future came true, I'd be dead right now, and Prue would be blonde.
[And that's putting a light spin on her awful, awful premonition]
no subject
[the smile fades, slightly, replaced by a contemplative expression. well, she did, and seeing your own death seems like it would have broken a lesser man.]
no subject
[Seen, experienced... learning her lesson]
no subject
I wish I could do magic, it seems really amazing! Unfortunately, I've no aptitude for it, none at all, at least back home.
no subject
[She won't be doing that, though.]
You don't have a power here? I was told everyone had a power.
no subject
[He shrugs.]
Not everyone has a power. Some Newcomers don't.
no subject
[Well. There's for not being informed properly.]
Do you work for these people, Jack?
no subject
Oh, no, goodness. I was just invited. Were you looking to?
no subject
My sister works for AGI though.
