OOC: Plotting post is here, and feel free to comment there with questions or if you wanna plan out more details before jumping into the log. Please comment to the ooc post if you want to be involved and haven't already responded, so we can work out why Godstiel would be going after/helping your character! Random encounters without planning are okay, but may not lead to anything but a discussion.

Post your own threads in this log for any confrontation with Godstiel, and please make a note of the day in the subject line, and the setting if appropriate. Threadjacking/setting up threads are fine as long as the other parties are good with it! The final confrontation with him near midnight on the 31st will be with Oz, but people can still encounter him earlier in the day on the 30th. PM me with any questions!

Raphael had missed a few nights out - several really. To say Chuck's warning had scared him was an understatement. But he'd made a habit of doing loops through the island after Darkness and he had found he missed it. Tentatively he had gone off, often flying from wherever on the island he was back to Michael, but for now, he was perched on the edge of a barely together rooftop, watching the family inside.

He watched them regularly, not that they knew that. Something about the older teenagers siblings raising the younger ones compelled him and he kept watch.

Satisfied for the night that they were all inside safely, he opened his wings and flew off to a near by building.

Raphael's wings flicker and it's almost there, him going for his sword, but he stops himself. He also almost screams for Michael, but catches himself before the thought it formed. He won't risk his brothers. He just got them back.

"I wish I could say the same for you, Castiel." He shifted, drifting away from the building he'd been watching, and those inside. He didn't know completely what Castiel was up to, wasn't willing to lead him to others to hurt.
servingmichael: (Lecturing little brothers. Again)

"That wasn't always the case. And you know it." It was sharp. Raphael did love his brothers - and while Castiel had been nothing but a problem for the last handful of years, he hadn't always been so. He'd mostly been beneath Raphael's notice, but that didn't mean he was completely indifferent.

"When one stayed in line there was no doubt, no reason for violence amongst the Host. No reason for brother to turn against brother." That, for the most part, had been his goal. To never see another fight between them. to never have Michael raise have to raise a hand against another as he had Lucifer. He'd failed, he knew that - but wasn't ready to concede that. "Or for one to abandon the others."

Raphael stepped back, more a sign of fear and given Castiel space than respect. "I was trying to protect you all. How much did the truth hurt you?"
servingmichael: But I'm not sure what to do with these feelings. (This is my Michael face)

Raphael's posture sharpens, wings ruffling, jaw tightening as he lifted his head to stare at Castiel, hard, angry. The urge to reach over and smack the impudence out Castiel was strong and he had to force it back down, force himself to a level of calm that he had practiced for millennia. He shook his head, a bare movement.

"No, Castiel. You're wrong." It's almost hard to see, his face softening in minute ways. "Michael and I - I know we were harsh. Unyielding. And I know that was difficult, on all of you. It was on us to do. But it wasn't our intent to do any of you harm, to cause you pain."

He knew that had backfired. Badly. It shouldn't have, but it did.

"But that? That doesn't compare to how empty, how cold, Heaven feels without Him there. We couldn't tell you God had abandoned us. All of you were happier not knowing. It was better."

"I have work to do Castiel. That's why I'm out here." Because otherwise, he wouldn't have left Michael's side - but he wasn't willing to run, not when he was checking in on people he hadn't seen in several days. He hadn't been looking for Castiel, after all.

There's a nanosecond of flashing anger in Raphael's eyes. Raphael was doing what he hadn't done in hundreds of years - take action in looking after humans. He was starting to enjoy it, point of fact - seeing them safe at home, safe from the decay and monsters, snapping tendons of caregivers who raised hands against children in their care. And he didn't take orders from anyone who wasn't Michael.

And it was Michael's order that made him back down - more than fear.

A second longer, chin held high in defiance, before he spread his wings and flew off.

Back to Michael's side, wherever he was.
