[backdated open log] I quietly observe standing in my space
Who: Norman Jayden and you.
When: Option "A" is backdated to November 2nd while the option "B" takes place on November 24th.
Where: Option "A" takes place at SPPD HQ. Second option is anywhere. Pretty much anything goes. I'm trying to snag all the CR.
Summary: Stuff, man. Stuff happens.
Warnings: None as of yet. Will update when necessary.
A → Thursday, November 2nd [From morning to early evening]
SPPD Headquarters
Same business, different environment. Nothing felt out of place.
At least, that's what Jayden kept telling himself. The busywork kept him occupied even if it did entail long, tedious paperwork. Sometimes he would find himself slowing down from the occasional headache or sore muscles for that matter. A person can be cooped up inside of an "office" for so long even though he was theoretically working on Mars. Don't overdo it. That's all you gotta do, right?
Just one quick break. That's all Jayden needed to get the blood flowing again. Where he was walking towards he had no idea, really. He would pass by the other offices and take a quick glance at the open or slightly cracked doors. Then there was the vending machine. Obvious place to take a break but Jayden's legs felt reluctant to stop there. Then again, somethin' salty sounded real nice right about now. Or maybe sweet. Before he realized it, he found himself in front of the damn thing debating between "D7" or "B2".
B → Sunday November 25th [early afternoon-???]
???
Jayden was willing to roll the dice on this one. Little did he ever go out to explore the city on his own. Maybe for the occasional errand or two but that was about it. His job was beginning to occupy a majority of his free time. There was this one bookstore with a little cafe inside he liked to visit whenever he had the chance. The coffee they made had to be be strongest blend in the whole god damn world. Not even cream would soften the punch. But where else can he go?
Uptown, downtown...who knows. Perhaps he needed to approach this with more direction. Have a fuckin' plan at least. This always happened whenever he stopped working. Work or ARI. ARI or work. The two were synonymous. If he didn't use ARI for work then he used ARI to kill time. When he didn't use ARI then there were other work-related items to take care of. Take the two away and Jayden would have no idea what to do with himself.
So there he stood. Not sure what he should do next.

Scene B!
Or she just didn't have a leash. Either or.
She was looking rather pensive, wandering by Jayden, only to - peripherally at least - take note of his at a loss-ness. Enough that she turned with a faint smile, and took a step back towards him. "Excuse me, but are you alright?"
Re: Scene B!
"Huh?" Between getting caught off guard and noticing the wolf besides her, Jayden looks a tad quizzical.
"Yea- I uh...I'm fine. I'm fine" he sniffs. The cold already turning his nose pinkish.
"I just needed to stop for a sec."
no subject
"I don't mean to be a busybody, but you should take care not to get sick this time of year."
no subject
"You're right" he exhales.
"I think if I stand here any longer, I might just lose it" pulling a wry smile at her. You know, feeling this chilly really doesn't measure up to the fact that there is a wolf right besides her, just hanging around like no one's business. Stay the course, Jayden. A wild animal is nothing compared to the utter insanity this city likes to dish out.
"Nice pet." Norman Jayden: Making smooth subject transitions since 1996.

At least he can warm up a little. At the comment about her wolf, she chuckled, glancing at the large animal. "More of a friend, to be honest - but thank you. Her name is Kyra."
no subject
The idea of a hot drink sounds nice right about now but he already feels guilty to have someone be that concerned.
"Thanks but you really don't have to." Damn sniffles. Why did he have to be pulled in this time of the year?
no subject
Fortunately she'd managed to get some warmer clothing since her arrival, otherwise it would probably be her with the sniffles too.
no subject
Now he just feels really bad. It's real nice of her to go out of her way for a complete stranger like him but Jayden could never find himself taking such a gesture for granted. On the flip-side though he's probably coming off as some dismissive prick.
no subject
"Well it is a cafe - you could probably get soup there too." She mused. "Assuming they offer such things in a place like that." She paused, peering through the window of the cafe. "I can't imagine that they wouldn't sell it in this weather."
no subject
"But let me get this one. I'd feel a lot better if I did."

So he nods, walking closer towards the door. "Ella. Nice to meet you. I'm Norman."
[ooc: i am so sorry for the delay! real life affairs got the best of me. D:]
no subject
"So Norman; if you don't mind my asking, what do you do here?" Besides standing out in the cold getting a cherry red nose?
[ It's no problem! ^^ *pats!* ]
no subject
He is a step behind Ella as he peers up at the menu. A lot options to chose from but he's going to stick with his guns and orders a small lemon tea when he approaches the clerk.
[Thanks! c:]

"Lot of people here come from all different times and places. Which means a lot of clash in ideologies. In other words, a typical in any law enforcement settin'." He takes a sip as he walks over towards a small table for two.
"Me? I'm just a profiler who works for the FBI in some alternate universe as you'd call it. I couldn't see myself doing anything else."
no subject
"I'd be one of those people who comes from a different time and place - and it isn't so much the ideology as ... the everything, to me." She laughed. "But I'm adaptable."
no subject
"For all I know, you're probably way more versatile than I am. Different backgrounds or not."
no subject
A pause. "That's a slight exaggeration, it's probably more like ten minutes, actually. Skills like that don't have much call in the world, unless it's to draw notice of a suitor, anyway. Actually, funny enough, I seem to have found myself working at the Uzushio Ryokan. Mostly as an attendant - but it's not what I would have seen myself as doing back home."
no subject
"Then...what's your place like? They have living dragons running around like this?" He jokes but oh how little does he know about the universe.
no subject
"Not nearly as technologically advanced or ...crowded, back home. But no, the dragons are in an entirely different region. They don't live around humans." She pauses. "There are dragons here?"
no subject
The idea though didn't seem so far off for him. If there are people with superpowers and the entire foundation of this city is built on science grounded principles only found in science fiction then it would be no surprise to see a couple of dragons hanging around. His eyes draws over to Kyra.
Not too far off at all.
"Sounds real peaceful though" Taking another sip of his tea.
no subject
"It is, relatively. It has its share of moments of danger, like the ogre attacks. But there weren't that many, and the knights kept the townspeople well protected from their patrols."
Scene B
Being from Manhattan, Alan enjoyed walking. He'd been so at ease with knowing his way around the streets and no need for a car on account of the subways, Alan enjoyed traveling on his feet. Even though this place was nothing like the Big Apple -and there was only so much to see- Alan still continued around familiar streets looking for new things.
And that's when he spotted someone standing there. Normally, Alan would go about on his way, ignoring them as he passed by, but Siren's Port was different. And maybe Alan was really bored.
"You look like you need help."
no subject
Jayden didn't realize how much he sticks out like a sore thumb with that blank stare he is giving up towards the skyline. Must be one of those moments where his head gets too wrapped up by everything around him. Like a tourist without the whole 'walk, take a picture, walk again' bit.
"I uh- pardon?"
Aha, hello late tag
Alan didn't really know if Jayden was lost or not, enjoying the clouds passing by, whatever, but the posture and the expression had told Alan otherwise.
